Big families

We are keeping our family small for many reasons - I think it honestly depends on your priorities and your income. I would like us to have a holiday every year, to be able to have a decent car, to not cram into a house that's a bit too small, to be able to put away some money for the future, to not have to worry if I want to buy some new clothes. On our income, that means sticking as we are. I guess you'd have to take a look at what you earn and look at house prices, holiday prices (if you want them), car costs and work it all out
I like you. I shall kill you last.0 -
I had six under 8 and really never realised how hard it was whilst they were all home, now i have my grandchildren for a few hours and wonder how the hell i coped.
It is expensive as they get older but only you know whether the constant nagging of "I want " as they get older will fall on deaf ears or casue you stress, and you probably wont know until its too late to change your mind.
I clearly remember my husband asking if we could send our daughter back where she came from when she was a stroppy 14 year old, now he would n't have asked such a stupid question if he had ever actually given birth would he.0 -

We have just the one for some of the reasons above. I was one of many growing up and holidays were rare, new clothes and toys few and not enough one to one time.
Even working part time I have the time to spend with my little one to bake, read, play games etc. School trips, new clothes etc are not a problem and we dont need a huge house.
Everybody is different though and its a personal choice re family size.0 -
I have three and I found there was a big difference between two and three, although it may have been because we had a big age gap between numbers 2 and 3.
Personally I'd stick at 2 or 3 as with 4 you are getting into bigger cars and more cramped houses etc.
It is a very personal thing though, isn't it?0
