  • Ordered Polycarbonate sheets on 25th Feb.
Got email from "Emma" to say there would be a delay of 7-10 days.
Rang Emma today. Reply "computers were down" will get back to you. Never did.
No chance of a delivery I conclude!

I had the misfortune to order some polycarbonate roofing sheet on 16th January, and still waiting for delivery. After repeated emails saying "we are sorry for the delay....." etc. and several abortive attempts to phone them I managed to get through to "Emma" today. She advised me that they would not be in a position to fulfil the order, and following some further questions, she advised me to request the money back through my bank. SO the fraud dept. at Santander are now dealing with the case. Seeing previous posts I will also be in touch with Trading Standards as well now.

Is there any way that their website can be removed, to stop others from being duped in this way?

Good Question. I think I've been duped in the same way still waiting for a refund. I foolishly gave credence to their topping of google searches. In a moment of paranoia I wondered whether bad reviews on this site were perversely adding to Property Plastics Google ranking. I asked a question to Mods here on the main page Q&A but not sure what's the best way to get clarification.

In the meantime I will follow the examples here to try to increase my chances of getting my money back (that they have now had for 25 days since I cancelled order).
  • This company do not appear to be in financial trouble according to all reports I've read so far. They have been trading this way for 2 years now and are still trading. I'm sure they make plenty of profit on bulk orders to large companies and work off the usual invoice system. I've experienced something similar with PayPal. Pay pal for no apparent reason (Security check excuse) will freeze the assets of the on-line trader and hold on to them for as long as legally possible (often 6 months).
By that time the PalPal client is so happy after being made to jump through hoops to get their funds that they take the matter no further.
Its most likely Property Plastics are playing the same game operating right on the edge of legality. The only way to stop this behaviour is to (after an recommended time) start a small claims action against property plastics and claim a large amout of compensation and it MUST be followed through. They will then realise that making interest on your assets is not a feasible operation. I guess for the small orders many will just write off the money and not bother to chase it, but this will just encourage this behaviour. Obviously for this company your payments result in an intrest free loan for them! Very clever if you let them get away with it.
  • Looks like financial problems. Just received an email from Emma to say they are no longer in a position to deliver and unable to process a refund. Contact your credit card company to obtain a Chargeback / retrieval.

Christian Williams is one of three directors.

    His home address is

23 Whittle Hall Lane, Great Sankey, Warrington, WA5 3DN.

He is a director of a number of companies at least two of which are dissolved.

The financial state of Property Plastics is poor. An application to have it struck off was cancelled in May 2010. There is a CCJ for £3371 against it on13 Jan 2011.

The other directors are Edward Williams who I think is his father and Neil Williams who is likely his brother. They both live at 36 Dunbeath Avenue, Prescot, L35 0QH.

I managed to get a refund from my credit card company last week, they were really good with it all. I did have a lot of documentation to support a claim and I have been fortunate to get my money back.
Today I tried to go on the property plastics web site & it appears to have gone.
I then tried ringing their number & it is not working.

Putting 2 & 2 together it looks like I may have got my money back just in time.

If they have stopped trading I hope those of you who have parted with your money are sucessful getting a refund through your credit card companies.
