Onestopphoneshop won't give me my cashback!
I bought 2 phones from onestopphoneshop.com and received my first cashback installment but haven't received the 2nd lot of cashback (£200). I sent the claim back in August. I included a note in the envelope stating that I had left my uni address and wanted my cashback sent to my home address.
A week passes and I get a call from onestopphoneshop.com saying that for them to send my cashback to my new address that I either need to fax or email some I.D with my address on to verify I live there. They said tat i would need to send this before I get my cashback. I sent the ID scans via email to them and received a confirmation back. 6 weeks pass and nothing so I email them and they'll look into it. After a couple of weeks they say they never received my cashback claim. They want me to provide the recorded delivery tracking number, which I don't have as it was posted over 3 months ago and I assumed they were sending it because they phoned me about my new address which they wouldn't have done had I not included a note in the envelope.
Anyway they say i'm not going to get the cashback as I haven't provided a tracking number despite there being records on their computer that someone called me for ID to verify my home address so that cashback could be sent. They won't even send out new slips.
Is there anything I can do to get my cashback? Have I got any chance of getting anything? If not then i'm gonna have to reduce each phone down to the cheapest tariff as I can't afford it (it's costing me like £70 per month plus down an extra £200!).

Small claims is your only way, start with a threating letter, then take them to court.

If you haven't already, read this thread so you get an idea of the sort of people you are dealing with.

As Wacko suggests, write them a letter, give them 7 or 14 days to comply or you'll take legal action.
If no satisfation invest £30 at

I received an out of court settlement within a fortnight, including my £30 back.0 -
The posters above are spot on. You MUST sue them. They will soon settle after that. If you have never sued anyone before it seems daunting. Really it isn't and once you have done it once you really feel empowered!0

OSPS are scum when it comes to cashback. They will do anything to avoid paying out. AFAIK they are the worst when it comes to cashback. They wont pay referral money either, unless you phone them twenty times.
Ive got a contract with them, which is thankfully ending at the end of this month, and ive just sent off my last cashback today. Now im just waiting for the petty excuses to start.0 -
I fully agree with you as they are doing worst than that with me regarding cash back. They are really a mean company and must, I REPEAT MUST, be avoided. They are always looking for excuses to avoide cash back and even Orange has confirmed that to me in one of their telephone calls. Threaten them with court notices and my humble advice to all of our friends here is " DONT DEAL WITH THEM AND BELIEVE ME YOU WILL REGRET IN THE END"0

I have a feeling I already know the answer to this after reading through the threads but here goes anyway.
My first cashback claim to Onestopphoneshop apparently arrived 4 days too late at their office (34 days instead of 30), and they are refusing to pay.
Anyone had any success overcoming this and pleading to their better nature?!
Thanks.0 -
This whole OSPS cashback thing makes me feel very uneasy.
I have a contract with them and the second cashback is due soon.
The first cashback was paid without a problem... in fact I was pleasantly surprised as they sent me a text message stating that I would receive the cheque soon, then shortly after the cheque came from CarphoneWarehouse.
Despite that though I found they are hard to get in contact with, their website and documentation is confusing and just generally you feel as though they are trying to catch you out so that the cashback is not payable.
I'll resrve judgement on whether or not I will use them again.0 -

I'm afraid OSPS do not have a better nature.
they are very difficult to deal with , unless you stick exactly to their terms and conditions.0 -
Always send your claim Recorded delivery, and photocopy, your bill, cashback slip(correctly filled in) and send them the original's.
I always staple them together
Never had a problem with getting my cashback, this and the last contract, infact my last claim, i had a cheque back within 5 days.0 -
Hi
It's no consolation to the posters waiting for cashback but I have only ever had one cashback rejected.
Guess who - OSPS - NEVER again. They were arrogant and insulting.
I'm just surprised they are still in business, they don't deserve to be.
Sue them
