ice you are paying alot! If you can get virgin cable in your area, you could save £50 a month and get far better broadband.
B
#4ut if you cant get free sky broadband, i'm guessing you are rurual and wont be able to get it.
IMO going with tiscali AND sky, although slightly better is a waste of money.
Sky gives you low cost broadband only if you have TV with them, which works out at £7 - £9 less than having tiscali broadband and sky TV. The service levels are not so much better as to justify the extra amount.
bang on rural...:p
its a killer...
they is alot to be said for living in a city...
cheaper everything...
well thanks anyway...I think I might just stay where I am...

We signed up to SKYplus and Sky Talk Unlimited a month ago and we're very impressed. Now thinking of moving from AOL broadband to SKY. Having dire connection problems with AOL and very tempted to move to SKY which is cheaper than the £22.00 a month I'm paying to AOL. Just a little dubious about all the hassle involved.0

I am currently with sky for the hd movieworld which is brilliant but am with bt for my phone and BB which has to change...I am paying £37.22 a month to bt...surely I will get this alot cheaper with sky...

After loads of problems with AOL - connection, customer services and free laptop offers that never materialised - I switched broadband to Sky, I also moved telephone and got rid of topup tv and took Sky instead.
Although I didn't qualify for the cheap boradband with Sky (I live in an area that doesn't) it has still worked out no more expensive moving everything to Sky and having a service which is brilliant.
I found it better signing up over the phone as they explained the process and timescale involved and everything was spot on.
It really was the best thing I did - should have done it a lot sooner!0 -

You paid £22 a month to AOL?
I've just called aol for my mac code with the intention of moving broadband to Sky, and the fella told me (rightly as I now see) about the 2GB cap on the sky broadband £17 package.
He offered me the unlimited aol broadband with free anytime landline calls, cheaper mobile and international calls than Sky, for £6.99 a month - so it would work out cheaper to do that and just have Sky for the telly I suppose.
I would be more than happy to just have freeview but our reception is so bad we hardly get any of the channels. And have just got an invite for free Sky plus box which is making this option v tempting.2015 wins: Jan: Leeds Castle tickets; Feb: Kindle Fire, Years supply Ricola March: £50 Sports Direct voucher April: DSLR camera June: £500 Bingo July: £50 co-op voucher0 -
to be honest I would have stayed with aol had they not messed me around for over 3 months promising me a free laptop if I renewed my contract which never materialised - I can honestly say the customer service I received from AOL was terrible over the last 3 months and after ten years with them it showed they have little regard for customer loyalty.0

I rang bt today to get a mac code...honestly they must think all there customers are thick...or that we can't add up...I asked for a mac code the guy asks why I said cos I want to go somewhere thats cheaper...I get bt total bb option 3 or 37.22 amonth thats line rental included...no calls...if I want calls its £55 for the month  so he offers me 6 months free bb worth £150 but all calls at £17.70 amonth a cost of £106.20 for 6 months so all I was gaining was £46.62 really...
and a bill of £660 for the remaining 12 months of the 18 months contract...
so if I go with them it'll cost me £990.00 - £152.82 for 6 months free bb = £837.18 but then add £106.20 for 6 months anytime talk at £17.70 amonth = £943.38 for 18 months contract...not saving anything really...but if I go with tiscali at £28.24 amonth cos I cannot get the free line rental...not in my area...then thats £508.32 for 18 months a saving of £480.24 what a saving so I am just waiting to get my mac code and I am off...
there is just one thing though...I am thinking of selling up and moving and according to the guy at bt tiscali don't like this...so whats the score on this...has anyone moved with tiscali...and what was that like...

I moved with Tiscali, and my only problems were brought about by BT. Tiscali did all the chasing for me as I got nowhere with BT, messing about with the telephone line installation.
I've read elsewhere previously on here that Tiscali's customer service is poor. I disagree completely. They've been great with every request so far.
Indeed, I complained this week because my broadband speed dropped to 40kbps during the day... I mentioned the tv picture as a side comment, and they have changed the settings on my tv signal from their endand it's now exactly what I'd wanted from TiscaliTV. Setanta's back now, and I'm a very happy Tiscali customer with approx 5MB BB, Free anytime calls to UK numbers and certain overseas countries, and all for approx thirty brick.

thanks LS20 I am undecided who I am going with at the moment as apparently I can get non cable virgin media for £16 a month this is for up to 8mb unlimited bb and unlimited calls the line rental at £10 amonth is still with bt...so £26 for the lot thats alot better than £37.22 just for bb and line rental...and no calls...I don't know why bt have to be so bother some...first they can't get my speed right it varies from 2 - 6 mbs a day...why can't it just stay the same...and there CS is just rock bottom at the moment ...and why are they so expensive...whats so special about them that you have to pay through the nose to be a customer...
Sky also are having a tarriff hike but if you want the max but can only get the connect then they will only ask for £5 for this...which sounds very tempting...plus I can get rid of bt this way altogether and just pay sky for the lot...£10 line rental and £5 calls...I was thinking of £17 for the connect but it says £5 normally £17 so thats even better...so if thats then just £20 for the month then I am laughing...still waiting for bt to generate me a mac code so that may take sometime so I will have to wait until I have that...
If Sky Broadband Base, Mid and Max are currently available in your area but you are not able to complete your broadband order and provide a MAC now, please be aware that when you do call us back with your MAC your local exchange may have run out of space and no longer be offering the Sky Broadband Base, Mid and Max products. Should this be the case then we would contact you and would still be able to offer you Sky Broadband Connect with download speeds of up to 8Mb* at £5 per month (normal price £17). Once space becomes available we would move you to our network and give you the option to change your product.
* Top speeds may vary significantly depending on distance from local exchange and line quality.
this is what it says when you try to sign up to sky now I know I can only get the sky connect so I should be a winner here and get this for alot cheaper than it is...
hum interesting...
