  • Hi sf, nice to still see you around the boards :D

    Well today was payday, so everything is set up for my first month. Today I payed house keeping (£175.00) internet (£5.00) and I got my printer (£27.00). These have all been added to my sig. I now have £148.00 this month to spend :D I have taken £10 out of that account which I will try and strech for 2 weeks.

    All going swimmingly well :D However I have joined a birthday swap on another forums. So I have to spend £20 on someone and I will recieve a £20 present back. However I am watching something on ebay for that so I may get it from what I get back from my auctions. Talking of them the first set finish soon. Fingers crossed :rotfl:

    edit ~ first set sold (11 itesms) for a total of £128.04 woo hoo. However thats before fees and postage though. The second lot is up to £50 :)

    Hi guys, missed me :rotfl: where do I start ~ am I still alive? Ummm yes. Am I in debt? No :j Am I in a not so good financial place? Definatly :o Do I have a plan? Truthfully ~ no, however I am hoping to change that.

    So what has happened in the last month or so :confused: Well all was going so well then some of my Mothers old debts were raked up, then although with my help she still missed a payment on her council tax. Therefore a pre aranged 5 year plan thing broke and we had to find £300+ within a week. I recieved an unexpected bill and everything went to pot. But instead of coming on here I binge ate and the worst thing binge spent :rolleyes:. I ended up helping mum out and using all my savings, all my wages, all my ebay savings (except £40) and now feel like I have fell back about 3 years :rolleyes:

    Anyways here we go... here is my soa as of tonight 5/dec/08...

    Monthly soa
    £175.00 ~ rent
    £35.00 ~ internet
    £13.00 ~ house ins
    £25.00 ~ locked saver
    £10.00 ~ WLR
    £20.00 ~ SU club

    Total = £278.00

    Mothly income £400 (approx) after tax, ni and pension
    Leaving £142.00 (approx)

    I also owe my mum £33 because I had to order my brothers 21st birthday gift today in time for his birthday but mum owes me £100 which she will pay back in feb :D However I have to break the news to her that I wont be able to afford our holiday this year unless some magic happens :cry: I have most of my christmas gift except mums (about £50) and money for the cards.

    I am now drawing a line in the sand and moving on. My intention was to never come back here untill new year but I needed to do something as its now getting me down. So I am still doing my £4,800 but I think I will have to start new year.

    So thats me all in black and white ~ shocked?

    Not shocked at all, PaP. You have set yourself a very difficult target and it is hardly surprising if you have the odd 'glitch'. Good to see you back. :beer:

    Pap, you had an unexpected bill, and you were able to cover it. So you had to use savings (isn't that what savings are for?) at least you didn't have to use credit.
    You've done so well last year that you were able to cope with a money emergency. And you may have had a splurge to make you feel better, but you haven't gone into debt! You should feel a little smug and proud :)

    I always like to start these things at new years anyway. It'll give you just under a month to come up with a good plan :D

    Hi Papr

    The problem is with plans is that when something happens to throw you off plan it stresses you out. I have been tempted many a time to join in the challenges on here, but the minute i do something throws me off plan, I get stressed, depressed eat etc etc so I have stopped doing it. However, we should all have goals in life.

    Its just necessary to get a balance. What has happened is a disappointment but you will get through it and the good news is that you are still not in debt....

    take care xx

    Thanks Rog, my problem is though these glitches are happening all too frequently for my liking :rolleyes: Also (this will sound bonkers so excuse me) as I am one of the very first dfw's still remaining I find it so hard to come on here and post any problems because I should (by now) know it all... However these things happen, we are human but I feel like I have failed :rolleyes: Its took three days to post but I am so happy that I did :D Thanks

    Aww thanks raph ~ well done on triple figures :j See the voice of reason, yes thats what savings are for but somehow I feel annoyed because if I hadnt got ill, I wouldnt have to go part time, therefore I would have covered the bill in my wages, so it all plays on my mind, then I get more ill. One never ending circle. It wasnt a big splurge :rotfl: one of my best yet actually, £36 on my yearly mag sub, £7 on a money book and £10 on a tote ~ should have done better eh :rotfl:

    My plan is kinda below, well not in detail but there you go. :rotfl: Thanks for all the continued support.

    Hi sammy, everything you have posted is so true. I dont even know why I started the challenge because its not a challenge ~ I have to live on that amount because I will only be getting payed that. I guess I thought it would 'look' good but effectively its done no good. I am really really pleased I didnt get into debt though :j

    ~~~~~~~~
    So its time to move on, time to face facts that I am not a super woman and I will just have to plod along and do something. So I have started my part time hours but due to complications my wages wont drop untill the 15/1. do I feel better? Yes. Do I regret it? No but I do regret losing half my wage. So the plans are ~
    * Replace the £500 savings and then save 6 months wages
    * Work hard at my Ou course (starting in May)
    * Find some voluntary work in admin/animal care
    * Have a secure admin job before the end of 2010
    and the biggie
    * Stop wasting money
    The £500 thing isnt too bad as I have £100 from mum to come and the £180 for the wii to be payed for. So thats £280 already :D After all my bills and my only 'treat' (Su club) that leaves me £142.00 to play with. My 'new' way of dealing with this (starting payday) is to save £77, buy my £25 bus ticket and then withdraw the £40.00 for the month. Thats it once its gone its gone. This will hopefully stop me purchasing online too as I will know the money in my bank is for bills :D It should take 4 months for me to save the £500 and then its onto my 6 months wages...
    So here we go again. I wont promise I will update each day or that I will be online each day but I will try and come back each week and give you a run down. I am now off to get all but one of mums presents online using the £40 in my paypal account :rotfl:
    Take care all :A
