I started with a pie maker too! Be careful before you know it your worktops will be filled with must-have gadgets. :D

Seriously though the pie maker (got 2 now, 1 freecycle, 1 carboot bargain) and pizza maker are two gadgets that do get used in our house and I would replace them if they broke.

I have a 'girdle' not griddle that I bought in Scotland I think it was in Fort William about 30 years ago.It cost me then about £10.00 which then was quite expensive but its worth its weight (and it is very heavy).I have made proper scones on it and also pizza's on top of the stove. My late Mum had an old iron girdle that had belonged to her Granny but it sadly got lost after her death. I love proper soda scones made on my girdle and they taste even better next day when slightly staler toasted with butter and honey on. Mmm I may get it out and make some today.i wouldn't bother with a £50.00 gadget see if you can buy a pizza stone from the net they must be cheaper.

mmmmmmm, soda scones  I feel a baking session coming on :)

the thing about the pizza maker is that it gets far hotter than a standard domestic oven can & you get the heat top & bottom

I've been making my own pizza since I was a teenager & over the years have tried every method under the sun. I can honestly say that this gadget produces the best pizza I've ever eaten ... worth its weight in gold
