just been reading about this in the news of the world
i wouldn't say no0 -
Sounds good at first, but when you add on your suitcase and booking fee, it'll possibly go up to maybe £40 - £50 for a return flight to the states.
What a rip off!!!!
And yes, I am being sarcastic

I think it sounds fab to me, £40 - 50 to go to the US, perfect
The Very Right Honourable Lady Tarry of the Alphabetty thread-I just love finding bargains and saving moneyI love to travel as much as I can when I canLife has a way to test you, it's how you deal with this that matters0 -
All I can hope is that he declares Bangor in Maine to be his NY airport - as that's where all the flights will end up when O'Leary's hatred of bureaucracy meets the TSA & Department of Homeland Security - either that or the bottom of the Atlantic0
-
do we really see this happening?
it sounds to good to be true
id imagine the airports would be in the middle of nowhere and the £8 flight would be on 1 day of the year!0 -
The £8 is exclusive of taxes and charges, and of course those other well-known Ryanair charge sets, ie credit/debit card charging, airport check-in charges and luggage charges. When this lot is added, the £8 headline price will pale into insignificance.
Having said all of that, it may still be excellent value comparitively.0 -
wow that would be dope as!!!!!!!!!0

The cheapest flight I was offered to America was over £290 so even with extra charges it would still be a good deal , surely?
I'm not sure
I've been looking at prices to New York with BA. The flight I want is £278 but the looking at the price breakdown the flight is only £43 - the other £235 is made up of "taxes, fees, charges and surcharges". It will be interesting to see how much Ryanairs taxes and fees are.
Sometimes when I've flown in Europe I've found scheduled flights for the same price as the 'cheap' airlines, and sometimes cheaper. When I went to Majorca a few years ago the BA flight was cheaper than Easyjet. If there's no/little difference in prices then I'd rather fly a scheduled airline because you usually get better luggage allowances, sensible flight times and free catering.
I'm a bit sceptical about Ryanair's '£8' flight - although I'm more than happy to be proved wrong!0 -
i reckon there will be a massive price for name changes to stop touts from selling them.
i guess an £8 flight or a £400 flight would be just one deal the anti ryanair brigade could not refuse.0 -
O'Leary talked about it sometime ago. Apparently they'll be a Business class service as well, including some err, cough - extras!
