Hester - Sounds like a good start with the lodger, lets hope she is not as...'effervescent' as the last last one! :)

Well, today I can wear my OS badge with pride - I bought some new Zoflora 'Springtime' ( have never used Zoflora before ) and I was so excited about it that I cleaned the whole kitchen as soon as I got in :rotfl:

    :hello: good evening (just abou!)

Not a lot happening here today really. DS was invited out for lunch by a long-lost friend - he was looking forward to it, but was umming and aahing because he needs to do some work on his eBay bargain car to get it back on the road, so if it was going to be a dry day he felt he really ought to work on the car while he had daylight....in the end the weather couldn't seem to make up its mind whether to rain or not, but kept looking as if it was going to, so he went to lunch in the end. That was about 6 hours ago so where he is now goodness knows, still having a good time chatting I expect.

As he's not here for dinner we're just having Frikadellen and chips, with mayo of course! I think today is going to be a bit short on the 5-a-day as far as veggies are concerned, so will try to make up for it tomorrow

Welcome to the newbies and welcome back to returning posters - nice to have you back!

((((HUGS)))) to all in need. And congratulations to those celebrating!

    All for now

    best wishes

    Evening all! :hello:

I can't believe it's the end of my half term. :( I've spent the past couple of days with my parents - and DH turned up yesterday to add some moral support. I lounged around at their house yesterday as I didn't have a car, nor was the dog around so I couldn't take her out for a walk. I suppose I could have gone for a walk all by myself, but it was raining.............:o

My mum had been recalled for another mammogram yesterday. She went with a friend who had also been recalled. Anyway, the short version of the story is that she had an ultra sound and a biopsy and she needs to go back to get the results on Wednesday. To be honest, I'm not sure how I'm supposed to "feel". I'm worried and upset, but it might be nothing - right?

OS wise, I've done nothing as my mum has thrown herself into making the food. We had a delicious lentil and bacon soup last night at our bonfire and today's roast was pork with HM apple sauce - and all the other trimmings. DH and I are sitting on the sofa feeling decidedly full now. (we're back at home)

Back to work (and trying to avoid the grand prix for fear of jinxing anything....).

  • Evening all,

I hope everyone has had a great weekend.

Big Hugs to everyone who needs one today :A

I have had a really busy week this week, we have so much packing to do before we move in a few weeks. I have just been round to the house we are buying and it is looking lovely, the kitche is almost fitted now and I think that is the last thing to be done before we get our moving date...... I am really excited now.

We have spent the weekend packing and tidying and I still feel like we are no further forward. I am going to have a busy night tonight as I have lots of paperwork to do and my OH is at work till midnight.

I have been good today and have got rid of lots of things on freecycle, pre OS I would have just binned the stuff but now I have been using freecyle to get rid of it. One of the things that I listed was 2 bin bags filled with girls toys and I have just got a message from the lady who picked it up to say thank you as her two little girls loved all of the toys. That was really nice of her and makes me glad that I didn't just bin it.

Kids have been an absolute nightmare today, they were hyperactive and I don't think they have stopped fighting all day. I feel like they have been sat on the naughty step for most of the day. I always feel really bad when I shout at them but on days like this thats all I do. Good job they aren't like this all of the time.

I made a cobbler for tea, I got the recipie from on here. I used apples and added some cinamon and raisins and it was lovely. Even the kids enjoyed it until they started to argue about whose cup had most milk in!!!

Off now to tackle my paperwork mountain

    Evening all,

Up early this morning to take dog out for a little walk, then made pancakes for breakfast and emptied and refilled dishwasher...felt really virtuous.

Went to see 77yo cousin who had a hip replacement 6 weeks ago and apparently a bad reaction to the anaesthetic...was sedated and hasn't really been with the programme since, decided to go see him in case I didn't get another opportunity. Found him much better than I expected and would think that he will improve much more, but because of his age it will be slow. All he wants is to come home but his wife is over 80, their house is small with no downstairs bathroom so she wouldn't have a hope of coping...sad to see that but we are all insisting that he must do exactly as he is told and he will be back in his garden soon.

Fell asleep on couch when I came home, just as well Ulick had cooked lunch, I had eaten while out so was not hungry.

Mioliere...what's that story, we miss you

Off in a minute to do some more knitting.

Hugs to all in need or want, welcome to newbies, congratulations to all who are celebrating, thank you for being my friends.

    Hi all :hello:

Been singing in a concert this evening - the rehearsal went better than the performance  but it's a really good crowd of people and I caught up with a few friends I hadn't seen for a while.

On the way to rehearsal I had a not very moneysaving time :o I managed to avoid the temptations of Westfield, but went to Hammersmith's TK Maxx in search of possible Christmas pressies (bath goodies and so on) and ended up spending mumble mumble mumble on other things :o The best buy was a pair of black knee-high boots - I have very curvy calves (always have had, even when I was thinner) so I need the type of boots which come in different calf circumference sizes, and in the past I'd never bought any because I'd never found a pair for much under £100. This pair are mega comfy, will go with all my skirts, are smart enough for work, should last well if I take care of them, and were only £39.99 - money well spent!

At our choir tea before the concert the spicy fruit loaf I did in my BM went down VERY well - it's a good job I took a slice before I offered it for general consumption, as it then lasted all of two minutes :D

I'm very busy this coming week - five nights out  I need to plan to batch-cook something on Tuesday evening when I'm in, so I have some variety (I only have three different types of meal in the freezer at the moment :o)

Nelski, yep you're definitely going to have to come down at some point and help me with all this rose :D
redruby, enjoy your DVDs :) Hope you manage to watch one or two of them tomorrow :j
Penny-Pincher!! - good luck at the hospital - thinking of you

    Love Rzl xx
