  • I'm on the free monthly trial of Eset Smart Security and I'm impressed so far after a week. I'll be purchasing this after the trial period ends. I did use Nod32 antivirus and Commodo on my last laptop but I'm liking the suit.

I use ZoneAlarm Security Suite, it uses kaspersky as its antivirus engine and is very good. It seems to do everything and is easy to use, the program control feature is excellent.

For free security, i would would use ZA free firewall and AVG.
  • For about £27 you can also get the Antivir Security Suite - low on resources and a top 3 contender

If you really want to pay for one then get Kaspersky, it is one of the best on the market.

I recently switched from Norton Internet Security 2008 to Kapersky and yes, its not as user friendly but my PC is sooo much quicker than it used to be. As long as Kap catches the viruses, I'm happy.

Norton, Macafee, Bulldog etc are goods packages but they tend to be directed at the wrong market. They are for the business market that uses servers and gateways to regulate access to the internet. For the average home user they are just too resource hungry. Best to stay with the likes of AVG, Zone Alarm etc as recommended by other posters.
