Hi,
My internet security is due to expire. I've seen lots of good reviews around for Norton Internet Security 2009. Is it as good as they say it is or better avoided? If not what else would you recommend. I don't mind paying for something good.

My security comes as part of my broadband package....doesn't yours?:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0

It can do at extra cost but worked out cheaper last year to buy the cd rom version on offer in pc world. It's also Norton, which is no good if it's rubbish!0

Norton 2009 doesnt use as much resources as the 2008 version. I found it less intrusive and a lot less power hungry. Finally they listened to people0

I wouldnt touch Norton with a bargepole
I would recommend a free anti virus and firewall
AVG, AVAST or AVIRA anti virus software
COMODO, ZONEALARM or SUNBELT firewall
Malwarebytes and Spybot to compliment them too:idea:0 -
If you really want to pay for one then get Kaspersky, it is one of the best on the market.0

thought i'd save you the bother of clicking search, here's the results.
As you can see, may here aren't fans of Norton, the 2009 package may well be an improvement on their earlier efforts, but they have a lot of lost ground to make up. Plenty of very good free alternatives, or, if you insist on paying, another vote for kasperskyUtinam logica falsa tuam philosophiam totam suffodiant.0 -
I'd give my vote for Eset Smart Security (after using many different ones including all the free alternatives)."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"
