Quite clearly the awful customer service bit concerned the person not being believed about leaving behind a 17p packet of tablets. Would anyone really try to con 17p out of them?
You have twisted the post in order to be rude, nothing more, nothing less.
Oh dear ruffled your sweet little world, incredibly rude, I dont think so ?
The link gives the cause, plain old forgetfulness and not awful customer service and not their fault so why are they obliged to make good someones mistake, or whatever you wish to call it.
It happens to us all at some point, and the point is why should the store make good for someones "mistake or negligence" and by them deciding not to say "go on here's another one and you be more careful this time" why is that awful customer service  is everything a bogof now, I wish it was and I am sure you do as well.0 -

I agree it would be nice, but there are always two sides to every story and the posters comments of awful customer service was a little too OTT and theatrical, and certainly had no basis for a complaint which it recommended. Just put it down to experience and shop elsewhere, but first tie a knot in your hanky to remind yourself why you went there ; )0

Not really, as they can easily check CCTV, or rather get their security guard to do it. Moreover, legally, they must keep CCTV for 31 days so even if you go back the next day, they CAN check.0

I have worked on checkouts before, and it is very common for people to leave shopping or other items behind when packing their bags. I always kept things on the side and then handed them to the customer service desk, more often than not the customer would come in and we would gladly hand over the item without fuss.
We wouldn't question someone coming in claiming a jar of coffee (for example) when we knew full well that someone had left one behind. We have removed your signature - please contact the forum team if you are not sure why - Forum Team0 -
I know how annoying it is when you do leave something behind but really don't think I'd bother going to all that hassle for a jar of coffee. I know everyone has to be careful with money in these difficult times but you have to weigh up the cost of petrol or bus fares and balance it out. Plus how honest was the person behind you? they might have just bagged up the coffee in their shopping.0
