Celebs who cant sell

ix months after putting her house in Putney, South-West London, on the market, Eighties pop star Sinitta is yet to sell despite dropping the price by more than half a million to £3.95million. The six-bedroom Victorian house (on with Savills, 020 8971 8111) has all the showbiz touches you'd expect from Simon Cowell's ex, including a huge open-plan kitchen/diner with glass doors to the garden, underfloor heating, and a coach house with permission to be converted into extra living space.
Sinitta, 42, bought the house two years ago but wants to downsize in London and buy in Hong Kong where her financier husband Andy Wilmer's business is based.

I was going to say I thought that was a really reasonable price given how nice the house is. Then I read it again and realised it's not just under 400k. :rotfl:0

That's it - recognise it from MTV Cribs.Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0

Oddly enough, in today's society, stories of celebs who are having to take big cuts to sell their prices, might be one of the best ways getting vendors to face reality.
Here's MSE on Carol Vorderman's problems with her Westminster flat - even after an £800K "reduction"0 -
Vorderman should give the money back to all the people she helped rip-off with dodgy financial productsKrusty & Phil Madoff, 1990 - 2007:

The best / worst was Peter Stringfellow's place in Spain. It was true car crash stuff! I sat with my hands over my eyes going, "I cannae watch this" but couldn't help myself. It was completely leopardskin tat! And yes, mirrored ceiling (eugh!). Danielle Lloyds place was actually very similar to mine - 2 bedroomed flat with a parking space. Big wowee - I want to see lavish lavish lavish lavish not somewhere that looks like mine! (not that she's a 'proper' celeb anyway)
The US ones are all identikit - bit TVs in every room, cinema room, large kitchen with Cristal in the fridge, 3 or more cars (1 x supercar, 1 Range Rover or other four by four, and a refurbished 1960s Mustang or the like). Not that I'm jealous or anything.Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0 -
Nice house...yeah, like it...SOUTH OF THE RIVER? Fark off.0

The former queen of daytime TV who was once one of the highest paid women in broadcasting broke down in tears as she revealed that they may lose their home after her husband Grant Bovey's buy-to-let empire collapsed.
The couple, who live in a mansion set in 57 acres of prime real estate in the Surrey hills where they keep a string of horses, enjoy a lavish lifestyle including holidays at luxury ski chalets in the Alps and million-pound yachts in the Mediterranean.
But now the 48-year-old Perfect Housewife presenter says she fears for the future.
'Our backs are against the wall - we may even lose our mansion,' she said.
'We are in it like lots of other people in this country who have been bitten by economic circumstances.

one for you NDGDirector Yates bites the Bullitt
Thursday, December 11, 2008
Catherine Deshayes
As the director of Hollywood's classic car-chase movie Bullitt, starring Steve McQueen, Peter Yates is used to tense situations - three months after putting his Knightsbridge flat on the market at £4 million through Douglas & Gordon he has had to reduce the price to only £2.5 million...
"Unfortunately, the flat was over-valued as it only has an 18-year lease," says an insider. "Whoever buys it will need to negotiate a lease-extension with the landlords, which will cost them a further £1.5 million to £2 million."
Aldershot-born Yates's Ennismore Gardens maisonette has two bedrooms, three large reception rooms and the use of the communal gardens.
He and his wife, Virginia, plan to move to their Dakota Building apartment in New York, near their children, psychologist Miranda and film editor Toby:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
