Doing a tour of East London then, osagefo?

Must admit, the battery life doesn't seem good at all.
After the supplied battery allowed me to play all of two tracks, I tried some of my top quality "99p Store" AAA's - first one lasted an hour or so.

Will need to try with one of my rechargeable beasties.

I know I bought it as an MP3 player, but it does serve well for portable storage - and when used in this manner, it doesn't drain the battery power.

Anyone else tried theirs out, rather than wrapping them up for presents?

For good battery life you need some batteries which have at least 700ma power. Most of the cheaper ones have around 200ma max. My uniross rechargeable 700ma batteries last around 10 hours on my mp3 player. They cost around £4 for a pack of 4.
  • I'm using mine with Sony branded alkaline batteries (which cost 49p for 4 in Woolworths about 2 years ago). I've used mine for about 5 hours and the battery indicator is on 2 bars out of four.

They had even more in Tesco Abingdon than when I got mine. A whole end isle display, a bin and others with the other MP3 players and they were replenishing from a stock trolley full of boxes.
  • i just got 2 from Tesco Bathgate. I spoke to Customer Services at 1200 and they mentioned about 25 had been put out on the shelves. By the time I got there at about 1220 there were approximately 18 left and the chap mentioned they were "flying off the shelves".

as for the player itself; very pleased with it. of course, will have to invest in some decent batteries.

  • i got a couple at the hatfield store while i was getting petrol last night!

great for £10, shame it cant navigate through folders though and just lumps it all together. but im not gonna complain, is great for the price :)
  • As I posted earlier, my 800mAh rechargeable lasted all day in the office at work. This will however depend on the volume level you like to use. The following day I had it turned up much higher (working out of the office in a noisy environment) and the battery was out by lunchtime. Still, no problem - I just popped in another from my pocket!
Have just ordered today some Energizer 850mAh ones from Ebuyer at £4.00 for 4 - click here
