It does sound very strange. Get your husband to get a copy of his credit report from someone like Experian (it can be ordered online) - it might give further details on this.

Also, I totally agree with Jules.

Check that they haven't been filing this error on your credit report aswell to cause you future issues. Once it's sorted, check your report again...

    Grrrrrr!!! again!!

Just been on the phone to sky again.....half way thru convo and line goes dead! now on hold again with an estimated wait of '42 mins'

    The story so far....

Sky are saying that in Sept 2000 there was an installation fee of £20....that wasn't paid so they say....and then no agreement contract signed and returned to them so in July 2002 they put a charge for the dig box of £200 and further charge for installation of £80!! = £300

They say they passed the debt onto Intrum Justia and then it's been passed onto Lowell...but no letters here b4 now...we haven't moved

(btw talking to a call centre somewhere not in Scotland!)

Also saying they put a block on his card twice..but can't give me the dates of it ..hmmmm....... if they block the card surely they wont reinstate it without a payment to them???

So as far as i can gather they are saying as it was installed and no agreement signed we owe for the equipment..which btw the engineer removed old dish and box when i moved in and got sky in my name....

When i asked the question...how did he view digital tv for nearly 2 yrs if card was blocked and they never received any payments from him...especially since part of the usual agreement is pay by DD....it was at this point i was /disconnected!

so how can they honestly say that hubby had veiwable sky (as far as i can recall) for nearly 2 years without paying a penny for it?? they have no record of ANY payments to them at all!

So now on hold to have to go thru the whole procedure again

    I'm soooo cross!!!

So they are saying that they have no record of any payments being made to them? Do YOU (or hubby) have a record of payments made? You can check old statements online going back 6 years.
What did I do at work before I discovered MSE?!

DFD - WAS: a while ago

NOW - not sure, due to boyfriend going back to uni for masters and now pgce. Worth it in the long run!
Proud to be dealing with my debts!

Unfortunately he doesn't bank with the same bank he had back then...he was in a pickle with finances when i first met him, and we have sorted things out over the last few years..not clear of debt yet but getting there, BUT Sky wasn't one of them! I can't recall if i transferred his subcription with them come out of my account at that time......is there any way i could find out?

It seems very strange how they are not after any other fees apart from the installation and box......

If you had not signed and returned the interactive agreement form with the sky subscription agreement then i recall it does say you are liable for the full cost of the box and installation which was/is around £300.

You will have to tell them that the box DEFINITLEY has been connected to a working telephone line (****this is a must****), and you DO remember signing (and returning) an interactive agreement form.

Did you (or husband) take out the sky subscription at a store, or was it by phone?
