Although purplegirl and I differ on one small point we are both in agreement that rearfacing is good. I too apologise for letting one small comment get to me in such a big way.0

If thats the only thing stopping some parents from rear facing then i think it's very sad indeed. What do you say if your child starts crying when it's time to go to class or if they accidently wet themselves during there first term? Both are far worse than having a rear facing seat.
Rear facing can be made cool, a in car dvd player fixed to the rear head rest usually sorts that or past the age of 4 many MPV's have swivel seats so you can rear face until any age provided they are in a booster seat (you cannot fix full car seats to these seats in rear mode0
