Carry on clamping (Youtube video)

For the record, I've never been clamped.
However, I have read a number of stories where people who were acting reasonably ended up having to pay £400 to get their car back.
One case in the video link was a man who parked in a McDonalds, walked across the road to get some cash, came back to the burger place and was then clamped.Happy chappy0 -
All together now:
"Don't speed and you won't get a ticket"
"I don't mind having to carry an ID card, I've got nothing to hide"
"Of course the police should detain terror suspects for 42 days, innocent people have nothing to fear from this"
It's attitudes like this that allow us to sleepwalk into a Big Brother police state. I thought the point of consumer forums like MSE was for people to stand up and be counted, against the petty bureaucrats that want to control our lives and extort our hard earned cash.
BTW if anyone ever tries to clamp my car, I've got a petrol driven anglegrinder in the boot.
terrorists
big brother
Wheel clamps?
surely we can include russel brand, immigrants and the daily mail in the list?0 -
The main complaint is that private parking companies can treat someone who parks on a bit of their space in such a bad manner, and the "powers that be" take no interest in it. The wider issue is that the generally law abiding and well intentioned suffer at the hands of ever more "little hitlers" whilst full time crims laugh because they've realised that they're immune.Happy chappy0

i agree that the regulation is shot to pieces, but its like yobs in the rough parts of town at night, avoid them and there wont be a problem
I cant think of a time when i have to park somewhere where they clamp and there is no alternative0 -

You make it sound so simple - life is never simple.
There have been reports of police cars getting clamped - (ok that is kinda funny..) also other emergency vehicles, doctors on call and disabled.
Clampers do not seem to have brains that consist of the words 'common sense'.
And you can't always avoid those yobs in the street - sometimes they follow and pursue, because they are after some easy money or enjoy being threatening. They don't lack common sense, just the whole brain is missing.Genie

Bear a thought then for the folk on here that do not have straight forward lives that cannot be calmly planned. And the idiots out there with the clamps that do not even think....... the bosses that employ them, that have no morals and nor do they care. Its money to them, and they will charge exorbitant prices if they want. They do not care about what anyone may have been through and whether they have two 'h'pennies to rub together', can't pay the £400 or whatever, tough.

Good for you. The trick comes in knowing what one is, when it isn't even signed according to legislation.0
