Well it's 5.15pm, the lit carved pumpkin is in the window, it's dark, and not a soul yet!

Do you like the pumpkin my son and I carved by the way?! (I got the template from a link posted in the freebies forum on here).

I just had my 1st trick-or-treaters. That was fun, though I don't think my amateur dramatics of a fake scream in fright and a plea to the little werewolf not to eat me went down too well with my dogs, who I'd left in the sitting room. They started howling like crazy.

I was so stupid I thought the werewolf-boy had a noise making mask. It wasn't until one of the children asked slightly fearfully if I had a dog that I realised it was my poor boys.:o

Oh and great pumpkin NatBag, it looks like Jack Skellington from Nightmare Before Christmas.

Just had my first callers...............littlest one must have been only 2, bless him and with a devils horns hat on.............lol
The other two were a bit older but at least had made some effort and their mums were with them.
I never give out money - they just get offered a handful of sweets (woolworths special) and add them to the bucket they've already got.

Get the feeling there won't be many about tonight though...........very very cold.

GracieP - that's probably who it is meant to be - I didn't realise until you mentioned it!
We've not had that many this evening, was expecting more. We've seen some cute outfits, but there have been a few too many older kids with just a mask and a supermarket carrier bag for my liking.

  • Just had my first callers :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Heard the gate go the next thing there were 3 thuds against the window! The little darlings had thrown eggs which are now all over the window and ledge so I'm not happy!

I'm just irritated because I spent an hour carving a pumpkin which I left lit on the front step to indicate that it's ok to knock to beg for sweets and they just threw the eggs - had they knocked they would have received sugary treats, instead they got me yelling down the road at them as they ran off laughing like a pack of ferral [FONT=&quot]hyenas!

I'm now the grinch of Halloween! It's just an excuse for ferral hood rat children to run riot and cause criminal damage without the risk of getting an ASBO!

    Bah! Rant over!

Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not after you.:p

Oh no, how horrible of them.
We had a gap of about an hour and I thought that was the last of them, but we've just had another three groups, just as I'm trying to get my son to bed. Oh, and now the huge loud firework bangs have started right outside. Joy!

I've had a nice night so far. Just one bunch of kids who were a bit greedy and tried to take half my sweets. The mother with them was really apologetic. Tbf, I think she had bitten off more than she could chew as she had about 8 boys with her. So I think she had her son(s) and all their friends. She looked really harried.

All the others were very sweet and polite. After the first ones where my dogs got really worried I switched to responding to "Trick or treat" with "Ooh! I'll have a treat please!" Which was really funny. (Thanks poster on the other thread who came up with that!):rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I also gave my dogs a couple of rawhide treats so they were more relaxed. I'd say we're done with the genuine ToTs as the RA leaflet asked people to stop going around from 8pm. I'll leave my pumpkin out for a little while longer just in case there are any stragglers.

I'm sorry you've had a bad experience Sparkly, I hate the little scumbags who ruin what should be a good night.

I love most haunted live but I really dont like Brian, I really dont think he is that good. I could probably do a better job as a clairvoyant. BRING BACK DAVID WELLS BRING BACK DAVID WELLS

I totally have to agree with this, it has taken a while to get used to him but I much prefer David.

You know my DH and I were taking about this a few weeks back and remember 2 MHL ago when Carl & Stuart laid down and said the lines of that said curse that was to never wake up again and DW was crying, he said that he could not stand the people he loved doing these things to himself, I think that then he must have had enough as we have not seen him since. I can totally understand this but it is not the same without him. I did not think it would be the same after DA left but I did prefer DW.

And why does nothing ever happen to Keiron, or maybe it does and he just brushes things off.

I do love it though, it is the scariest thing I ever watch and when it first started it would take 3 or 4 days before I could go upstairs on my own. I am a bit of a wuss but this programme is my absolute favourite.

PS. Been T&T kids have a bucket full of goodies that have to start disappearing, hubby has been called out and will not be back for ages so spoilt my dinner so now I've a jacket potato cooking and am watching MHL while the fireworks go off!! I have blown the candle out on the pumpkin and turned the lights off so I do not think I am going to get any more.

Oh, earlier I was on the sofa cathing up with Easteneders and the door went so I ran to the door, grabbed the T&T sweets and thrust them into the face of..... the Tesco man with an armful of boxes bringing my shopping. I had totally forgotten I had ordered the food and he had come earlier than my delivery slot. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: He said 'I am sure that will not be the last time tonight'. :rotfl: :rotfl:
  • I have had no halloweeners! I am slightly upset as I have been ready for them for hours and I normally get loads. Oh well, lots of sweeties and fruit for me, yay!
