    Thanks for this tip!

Where could I look to find out where the best deals are? Is there a website offering comparisons based on price/minutes/texts offered etc? Or, is it a case of having to check each provider? I know which phone is wanted, so, is there a search facility by mobile phone too?

    Thanks!
I can say whatever I like here ... 'cos no one can see me .. ner ner ner ner ner !!!....

How do you know I ain't sitting here butt naked?!?!

I thunk I've made you think for a minute!

Look no further than our recently-resurrected old friend Reestit Mutton
  • Umm the above post contains referals. So you should place the link in the refers board

Although blatant referrals are to be discouraged (normally by the person trying to push their own referral links for profit), personally I think that the message linking to Reestit Mutton has merit and should stay here as it is clearly on topic - it refers to a site which has gone to the trouble of pulling together all the top deals in one place and highlighting the key points for each deal, including the overall cost of the contract over 12 (or 18) months. We all therefore benefit rather than having to trapse through every mobile site trying to find all the best deals.

Anyone using these MSE boards regularly knows that you can get cashback from Quidco, RPoints etc from most mobile phone companies and therefore may use a service such as Reestit Mutton to find the best deal before going through the cashback site if they are going to make a purchase. That said, the business model of cashback sites is referrals - they just happen to choose to share a percentage of the referral money with registered users - in which case, does that mean we cannot refer to Quidco/RPoints etc either?

Putting the message in the Refers Board would be pointless as, I believe, the link itself is not a referal. We would all miss out on this useful resource if it was hidden away over there.

Only my opinion - I am sure that others will make their own judgement.

Has anyone noticed any independent retailers with "crazy" deals yet?

I have it on written authority from a mod on this board that Reestit has permission from Martin to be quoted as a comparison location.

Another one here wanting to do a contract deal on cashback/tradein/tariff reduction on a Samsung E530, preferably on Orange. I have been offered 3000 extra weekend minutes plus texts for the first six months, but it would suit be better to do the deal on money rather than on the extra minutes - I just would not need the extra.

Am looking for a Talk 120 or Talk 200 contract.

Not a new offer but hidden away on the OSPS site. OSPS have a Siemens C72 on Orange 12 months free (OVP Voda Anytime 100 x mins, OVP T-Mobile Relax 100 or 1000 minutes off peak) or 11 months free (OVP Voda Anytime 200 x mins). Not the latest phone but free contract would be worth having (assuming OSPS pay out the cashback considering discussions elsewhere on the board).
