Did you call the landline number?
If so, don't give anyone who calls your mobile your name, address or *any* personal details. This company appears to be known for calling people back and trying on tricks to get your details so they can send you bills in the post for calling them. They even appear to have pretended to be peoples phone networks asking to confirm their details as a way of finding out who you are.
If someone does call you asking for details, ask who they are and tell them you're going to look up their details in the Yellow Pages to call them back on the number you find there. If they're legit they shouldn't complain about it.
yes, landline number. am very suspicious of who i answer calls from anyway, so i certainly won't be giving out my details. thanks for posting advice here0 -
Sorry to hear that John. Keep your fingers crossed and hope they don't manage to do anything. Let us know what they do. When I spoke with Vodafone earlier they seemed keen to build up a case of what these guys are doing.0

Phew! You lot have saved me alot of possible grief (not that I was going to ring the number sent by unsolicited text anyway).
I received my text from someone proclaiming to be Zoe. It reads exactly: "I'm home alone in just a skimpy top bored and need some action. Call me on my land line 02032858191 I'm ready anytime Zoe"
+18 only
GFI cs08700669217"
My mobile is on the Virgin network and I have a very limited number of people/companies that have this number - hence my hesitation and "google" of the number that came up with this most helpful of sites.
Hope that the fraud company close this unscrupulous activity down asap! Jon
ps It was sent on 28/12/2008 at 22.18pm
The text number it came from is +4477864095610 -
The worst thing was, I went ahead with a rendezvous with Zoe and she was so fat, her top was a circus tent. The good thing was, the circus tent wasn't see-through. . . unlike the actual scam itself.
Just think though.
One of the 'brains' behind all this isn't far off being an OAP, and may well be already carrying around a bus pass in his pocket.
The glamour really has gone out of the game.0 -

If you stick the numbers into www.whocallsme.com it might help others:hello:The shinbone is a device for finding furniture in a dark room.:TBig thanks to all competition posters:T0 -
I had a similar problem the other month, but it was messages coming into my phone's WAP service inbox, not my text one. I managed to trace the owners of the website mentioned in the text, and they've put my number onto their barred list so that it can't be added to their system again.
They reckoned someone did it deliberately to pee me off or accidentally put my number in instead of their own.0 -

I mean companies arent allowed to send unsolictited texts of an adult nature unless you have stated on some sort of form or made calls before that you are over 18.
If the text was worded in an adult nature then im sorry but youve no one to blame bu yourself, also how long were you on the call for??
My 10 year old daughter had an unsolicited text with lots of words of a rude and sexual nature in it and asking her to phone a number if she wanted a f**k buddy. She was very upset. Only 4 people (family) have her number. Orange said that it may be because they recycle old numbers and eventually agreed to change her number and let her retain her credit.0 -
