Managed to get the caravan service money - next on the list two new tyres being fitted at the end of the week - probably be covered by my holiday pay from work which is due as it is the end of the year. Then I have car tax at the end of the month

I am considering going back to college in September when my little girl goes to school - I have spoken to the college today and can do an access course which is the equivalent of A Levels. This takes up 18 hours a week for one year and would then enable me to get onto a Uni course. Only problem is the £900 I need to find to fund it!!

One day maybe I will be debt free :o
  • Urgh, don't mention tyres! _pale_ Not had a good month for tyres...
There's always money to find for something isn't there!

The access course sounds like a good idea - what will you want to be studying?
Will they let you pay the fees in installments term by term or anything? May make it a little easier if they will.
  • I did another survey a couple of days ago and the £3 reached my paypal account yesterday. I'll leave it in there for a while and let it build up to over £50 again before withdrawing it and whacking it on the credit card.

Got home phone and mobi bill in yesterday - both were less than I budgeted for so that's a few more £'s left in the bank.

I've decided this week is a new start to the diet for me too. I was positively angelic yesterday. I was surrounded by guests eating nice desserts and lots of big portions of lasagne last night- I was good and had a small portion, lots of salad and no dessert. :D Today I am using up the snack pots of soup we have in the cupboard which no-one really likes that much but they're free and they're healthy!

I've entered a few more comps this morning; if I get chance at the weekend I'm going to have a go at the free mirror bingo thing that everyone seems to be having lots of luck with.
  • What a lovely bank holiday weekend off work. :D It was so nice to spend time with my family and do some work in the garden, time goes so quickly though, especially time off work.

Another book sold on Amazon at the weekend for £2.80. It has gone straight off the credit card as an extra payment leaving the balance now at £3671.51.

I shall update this more a bit later, at the moment I'm still struggling to stay awake!
  • ooh - another cd sold on Amazon this morning :D = another £2.18 paid to nasty virgin card = £3669.33 outstanding balance.
  • Last night I got out in the garden again and did a little bit more towards getting it sorted. My parents have paid for lots of materials for us, (despite my protests as I feel bad!) so it's cost us next to nothing, they're angels, they really are. :A
I'm guessing we need to spend about £200 and the back garden will be done, but this can be spread out over the summer, it doesn't all have to be done at once even though I'd like it to be! We planted all the free seeds I'd gathered at the weekend. Lots of lettuce and carrots and flower bulbs are now snuggled in pots in the garden. :D I also received a free copy of the English Garden magazine yesterday, as did my Mum; so I have got a few more ideas from that. It's raining here today so I guess I won't be able to do much out there tonight and will have to clean the house instead!

Today I need to post the two Amazon sales off. We only have a few more items listed on there so I'll need to dig some more out when we come back from holiday in May!

I've charged my phone at work for free ;) and have brought breakfast and lunch from home as usual. We have everything we need in for dinner so it's a very low spend day for me - just the postage to pay for. Oh, I forgot - I filled the car up with petrol this morning - cost just over £32 - so quite a large spend day after all!

I'm also keeping an eye on my Quidco account as one of the mobi deals was declined on there for no reason  and I've put an enquiry in. That's £60 that should be coming my way, I'll be annoyed if it doesn't! I've earnt over £500 via Quidco now since last summer. :j

That's about all for today I think...
  • I cancelled the new energy supplier contract today when it came through the post - they'd added another charge on there of £40 a year if your gas pipelines aren't owned by a large gas company - ours aren't. This means I will lose the £100 cashback through Quidco but it would end up costing us more in gas & electricity which we don't want.

I also rejoined ww online through Quidco, hopefully that will track at £25. I also bought travel insurance for our holiday in a couple of weeks - was under £30 with 16% cashback thorugh Quidco.

Tonight I need to buy a few groceries and a couple of bits from B&Q - quite a major spend day then!

We still have money in the bank with payday 8 days away; to be honest I've completely lost track of whether we'll be overdrawn or not this month; but if we are, it shouldn't be by much. I have to get back into the habit of being more organised on that front - I seem to be giving up halfway through the month lately!
  • We went away to a friend's wedding this weekend - booked a free hotel ages ago with a voucher we received, so didn't have to pay for that. It did cost us quite a bit in petrol and food though. Have checked the bank account and we are already £70 overdrawn, which I think we be more like £200 overdrawn by the time everything has come out of the account. :o We're going to transfer some money from one of our ever-decreasing ISA's to cover it this month though. We are away for 3 weeks of next month and won't be spending much money out of the account, so hopefully we can make up a little then.

We've now paid a total of £440.39 off the egg card this month - frustratingly short of the £450 target but we don't have any more pennies spare to change that so I'm not going to worry about it! Hopefully we should be able to make the target of £450 next month.

Well done on only being £9.00 shy of your target though - still a fantastic amount off your debt!

I have had my letter come through confirming that I have an interview at the college that I plan to attend a week on Friday so that is exciting (and scary!).

Feel a bit despondent with the old moneysaving at the moment, I am getting increasingly frustrated with my last employer. I am pretty sure that they are trying to swindle me out of holiday pay. I am going to go in and speak to them tomorrow and if he tries it on, I think I am going to have to threaten speaking to HMRC. Will cross that bridge when I get to it.

Off to fat club tonight - but definitely will be no closer to my 3lb goal after eating easter eggs all week!

  • Hi SkySky

Great news about the interview - good luck for it and let us know how it goes.

I know what you mean about the moneysaving at the mo - my enthusiasm comes and goes, and at the moment it's definitely gone! Hope it all goes well with your old employer too.

Weightwatchers - my willpower has disappeared along with my moneysaving enthusiasm! No idea where the two of them have sloped off two but if anyone sees them, please send them back sharpish.
We have a holiday booked and paid for in ten days time and once we get back from that, it's extreme dieting and cracking down to managing our money better too. We are £170  overdrawn today, with payday on Friday, but are transferring £200 to cover that today. However, we had to buy petrol last night (£36) and some groceries to tide us over (£15) so will still be overdrawn by payday! :( Urgh, I get so tired of this way of living al the time.
We did get loads of 'yellow sticker' bargains in Sainsbury's last night though, :jand probably won't need to get anymore shopping now before we go away.
