What phone should i get or is up there?
Time for an upgrade on my mobile phone, had been thinking of the n95 8gb for ages but never went ahead with it as i heard the n96 was almost due to be out,now its out i am very tempted in getting one.
I see mobiles change quickly as soon as you buy one there is a newer model just comes out,or one that sounds like a good mobile.
Can anyone recommend any amazing phones out now or about to come out or had massive reviews on them,is the n96 about the best out there right now or other just as good and better.
I always like to keep up with the mobiles all want at the time, most mobiles i have had in the past they have been pretty popular.
I normally dont like contracts but i find its a way to get the latest phones and i suppose able to pay them up,rather than have to pay lots in one go,once my contract is up i normally cancel,i find that payg suits my needs better as i dont use my phone as much as many others would.
I am looking to say get a 12 month contract and also pay around £35/£40 per month and get phone for free, but also willing to pay less per month on a top phone would be good also.
I see there is some google phone coming out whats that all about, how would that compare to a n96 is a n96 a good choice?I just read so many people have problems with them.
Also i am with orange on a payg and say i wanted to go with anyother network is it possible to keep your old number regardless of network and if so how do you do this.

What features are most important to you in a mobile? Web Access/Camera/Battery Life/WiFi/GPS/Screen Size/Operating System etc. There are alot of phones out there with a wide range of specifications.
12 month contracts are starting to disappear now. You can still get a few, but phones/contracts will be more expensive as 18 months is the norm.
You mention the N96 a couple of times. My personal opinion on the N96 is it's a disappointment. If you already have a N95, I don't think it's much of an upgrade.0 -
I dont have the n95 or n96 but was thinking of the n96 as its the latest model of the that range.Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0

If you don't need the TV capability and 8GB of storage will suffice for you it would be better to go for the N95 8GB instead. Not only is it better built (I tried the N96 in a 3 store and it feels really cheap and plasticky for a phone being sold for nearly £600), the feature set is almost the same (save the TV which doesn't work in UK anyway), you will likely get it cheaper as well.
Also it being a smartphone it will be prone to software problems early in its life cycle. The N95 8GB has been around about a year longer and most issues have been fixed in the latest firmware revisions.0 -
What about the tv thing on the n96 would this work in australia as i will be moving there one day and if works great if not then why bother with the n96 as i hear a lot of neg on the n 96 compared to the n95Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0

Looking to buy a new mobile on a contract,i would prefer if it was on a 12 months contract with the lowest monthly charge,or also a 18 month again with the lowest monthly tarriff. To be honest pay the lowest amount for the phone over the shortest time.
I have a n96 in mind and also n85,what is the difference with these phones, which is the better phone and what does one have the other does not.
I want to make sure i get the right phone if these two are crap phones then what is the recommended phone to go for now,i have the sony k800i the casino royale one that came out a while back and was pretty popular then,so want to have the must get mobile now.
Im not bother what the network is,i am on orange so maybe thats best, but i beleive you can move your mobile number to any network is this right?Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0 -
thought about a samsung omnia tmobile have one for £35 on a 12 month contract and a 1gig data is included

that said there is a new version coming out with a higher rez screen though its korean only at the moment and could take 6 months to come over here.
alternatively if you want the same hardware as a n95/96 but different form factor the n82 has a better camera will take microsd cards upto 32gig (probably, defo 16gig) and the same rez if smaller screen

IMO N85 is the better phone because it has:
- A better Quality AMOLED screen
- An FM transmitter
- A more powerful chipset
- A bigger 1200mA battery
- A lens cover for camera
- It's smaller
The N96 has a slightly larger 2.8" screen, more onboard memory and DVB-H if you're in a country that has this service (Not the UK yet!)Im not bother what the network is,i am on orange so maybe thats best, but i beleive you can move your mobile number to any network is this right?
Yes, you should be able to port your number if you move networks.0 -
I have had an N95 8G for just over 6 months and have now ditched it.
Battery life was better than quoted but not great. I know someone who always carries a spare battery.
The camera did not take pictures that were any better than my old SE with a 3MP camera.
It is slow to respond and can take an age to power up.
If you are using Thunderbird if can be a right pain to synchronise your stuff.
I suspect I was seduced by the shiny newness of it all when it arrived but I am going back to a simpler phone, that does all I want. Long battery life, takes reasonable pictures (which I use for work purposes) makes and receives calls and has good reception.
Off to flog the N95 now.
PS I was always a big Nokia fan but the N95 was their last chance for me. Tried a previous version of their Nseries phones and though that was rubbish. I should have learned my lesson I suppose.0 -

Would the tv thing on the n96 work in oz as i am heading to live there in near future.Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0 -
