Hi,
couldn't resist adding these bathrooms to the hall of fame! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Yeah, but the view's pretty nice0 -
Your not the only one. My mum has UPVC doors and I hate them, cant work the damn things!!lostinrates wrote: »I'm glad I'm not the only uPVC hater.
I am about to exchange with my sister to a different area (she has just been allocated the property but wants to live where I am and vice versa) and if I get time I should really put up photos of the before deco. Its unreal . CDs on a bright red ceiling, graffiti, brick effect wallpaper, phone numbers written on door facings and thats just a few of the things! But hey I am up for the challenge anyway
ETA My Grandpa had a pink bathroom (and he was a very well to do man!)Finally, I can see you crystal clear0 -
Have a look at this one, I think its the most disgusting flat I've ever seen!

I started a thread on here last year moaning about boring white bathroom suites as EVERY bathroom suite these days is white, with a white bath panel, white tiles, white toilet seat etc. It looks like a white cat eating sherbet in a snowstorm:rotfl: .
Personally I like a suite with a bit of colour. I am not saying I like the yukky blue one, but a delicate pale colour is much better than boring white which everyone has these days.
Friends of mine who were renovating an old house were offered a yellow suite. They thought fine, it was free and pale yellow would be all right. When it arrived it was the sort of really bright gold you get on wrappers around Roses or Quality Street chocolates in a box.
I also viewed a house many years ago that had a shocking pink bathroom suite with black tiles, yuk, yuk, yuk. Shame, as the rest of the house was O.K but I could not have lived with that for even a day.0 -
As discovered by an earlier poster this gets my vote..

I used to have a bathroom like that .Actually it wasn't bad compared to the next one I had .As discovered by an earlier poster this gets my vote..
Picture the scene ,you go to view a house . The bathroom has a avocado suite ,no toilet seat polystyrene tiles on the ceiling painted green.
Anyway I bought the house .:rotfl:"Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many"0 -

......But have you ever painted a house full of sash windows? I will never, ever, have wooden sashes again!
Done well, upvc is OK IMO for houses with no pretentions. The problem is, like everything else, there's a big choice and a range of prices, so people make bad judgements and try to save a few bob too. The 1930s house across from me has had its windows replaced this week and, much to my surprise, the educated couple who own it have behaved like twonkers and installed a big picture window instead of stayng with the original casement shapes. Now, they will feel like fish in a fish bowl, and serve them right!
I did a small bungalow in 2006 and, knowing it was for a granny, I put a light oak style UPVC front door on it which, as it faces due south, she won't need to have painted every couple of years. I think that's sensible. Mind you, getting one that looked any good set me back £800.
But the best bit of all, as you get older.....no draughts!0 -
if that flat in brixton goes for the asking price, i will cry, i cant sell mine and its cheaper than that in beckenham.
makes me larf though, the person in that flat has obviously spent hundreds on those pelmets.0 -
I know 4 people who have that bathroom in green - so don't think the blue is bad! My fiance's was green when we met and he didn't care at all, he used to drink beers in the shower! We changed it to a nice white one that we purchased from screwfix for £180 and it looked a totally different room.0

Oh yes, this was one of my chores on school holidays as a teen. I got to be a dab hand with masking tape, and actually found it quite enjoyable work. I really do think it depends on the people and the property, I don't like plastic fullstop, and I hate the uPVC windows. My parents have them now too(where I now live) and I guess they are 'ok' looks wise, and easy to clean, but so souless. I like a bit of wood, where if I'm repainting I can maybe change the colour, or not, but it just 'sits' better for me. The uPVC in 'my/the guest room' replaced a crittal window, and I evn prefered that to the plastic.
