Hello I'm new to the forum
I would like some advice with a ppi that i took out with lloyds tsb in 2004, the loan was for £25.000 over 7 years which I am still paying ..
The problem is i cant remember the issues of the loan's ppi, and i think it was quoted as part of the loan.
And i was given the information that I needed to take this out incase of unemployment, death as I have children ect... It was such a long time ago??
I would like some advise with what i can do ? Can I claim the ppi back?
Thanks0 -

Just take a look at the link here and see what you can add and delete from the template letter. Its always best to do your own from this. There are lots of reason on there for the misselling so pick out the ones that are applicable to yours.
You then write to the firm that actually made the sale of the PPI to you if this is different from the lender and don't forget to send this recorded delivery so you always a proof and dates etc.
After that you have to give them 8 weeks for a full and final response. In this time it is usual to get a response of "sorry we sold this to you fairly" but you then respond to this and reiterate your complaint again. The next time they write they either give you a final response which you would need in order to take this complaint to the FOS or offer to settle.

Hiya hun
So this loan they given to you alone then ?
Was there a partner on the loan as well, if you don't mind me asking?
If your not working and this loan was for you alone then unemployment would not have covered you anyway, they should have known that.
Have you any paperwork, the loan agreement ?The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
He probably has them all in front of him on his desk, spread-sheets everywhere.......with all your names on.;)
I know Turbo, likes to make sure he gets everything as accurate as possible, he may come in to ask a few questions in between, to make sure nothing is missed.
He also does calcs for others on other sites as well, I think he just loves numbers lol.:rotfl:X

I used the rule of 78 calculator though...;)0 -

As you know I did argue this one and got numerous emails from the adjudicator saying that this is the exact way that they would expect a firm to offer a refund and in line with not having the PPI at all. I did not need a spreadsheet to do this....

Yes I do remember that.
I know with the Nemo one, I asked the Adjudicator/Ombudsman if they work out the calculations, and they said this can be arranged, this was worked out for me because they realised I was underpaid, that was when the FOS contacted Nemo to tell them this and to make another cheque up for me which I received within a few weeks after, this then amounted up to in total under £13K.
But meanwhile, I can't remember for definate who worked this out for me over at the PAG, it may have been Turbo or Ed, maybe someone different as different ones were coming in to help then, and the total I received was the amount they stated without the distress payment more or less.;)
I have not asked anyone else to work out my eloan one over there there though the first time was here with them ones.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0
