  • no its the ppi off the 2 account cards, new look and dorothy perkins, both g e capital cards. just rang council to see if i could get proof of housing/council tax benefit paid back then. really makes me mad because i told the staff at both occasions that i was a student, that my income was the maintainence allowance from college and a small amount from benefits, yet i was still told i had to have this. there was no mention of the fact that it was to cover unemployment, they just told me i needed to sign. i know i should have paid more attention, and i take the blame for that, but when you are 18 and someones offering you credit you sign where you can and get out of there before they take it back!

Good but the government will own everything soon...

If they had not allowed us to be ripped off by banks/finance companies in the first place then this would not be happening....

I know how you feel here but just get a cuppa :coffee: and relax a bit and pound a cushion (pretend its tesco!!) and then you will be all ready to fight again. Knock backs are just that, knock backs and we all have them but we just have to keep on. We will all help ya showergirl...;)[/quot
Have had a cry, and have now got a cuppa, don't know if I will be able to relax though. Have got some ironing to do so maybe that will help. Like you say it's a knock back and with your help I'll be back fighting. Thanks for your support you really are angel:A Thanks to everyone else for their support too
Going to do the same here too. My ironing is everywhere. I have had the washerman out 3 times this week and its been fixed I think now. Its been leaking but each time he comes its stopped:eek: . Then today I did one load first thing and then another just before he came and I was jumping for joy with the second lot... water everywhere. :j

He has now been able to see what the problem was and fix it..;)

I said to my son, I bet he thinks I am a "desperate housewife" or something..

He told me he had just been to a washer before and found a ring in her filter, an engagement type ring..... thing is it was not hers:eek: .

    Catch you later.;)

You need to wait for the proof and then send the other letter if this letter is not a final response. We were well over the age of 18 when we had ours applied...
  • lets hope they've still got some proof for me!

  • i know this isn't related to ppi, but since you are such a clever bunch, you might be able to help with this too. I wrote for info of any charges on those 2 cards as well, and they have sent me a list, but say they have no records of certain months, and they will take this into account when deciding if any refunds are due. I've got no idea whether to write again, saying look harder basically, or whether to put a claim in and try and say i am going to assume i was charged in those months, and if i wasn't i would like proof, otherwise claim it back!i know its a bit of a long shot, but any more ideas?

I have been trying to reclaim mis-sold PPi since last summer.
Took out a loan with First National through UK Loans Group, PPI added automatically and at the time I didn't know it shouldn't be.
Paid off loan after about 3 years and assumed balance of PPI was refunded in the settlement figure. 2 years later had a letter saying policy was now finished and I wouldn't be able to claim on it.
Rang First National to say that I thought it was refunded 2 years before and they said no, they keep it running.
Then heard about PPI mis-selling so but in a claim to First National. They said that as loan was sold by broker had to go through them. Have tried to contact - first letter to their PO Box returned as PO Box been cancelled. Wrote to full postal address, recorded delivery, in October. Haven't had letter back but no tract on Post Office Track & Trace. Have contacted FOS who have written to the same address I had and not heard anything yet.
Where do I stand if the broker is no longer trading?
Would it be of any use to try and claim the last 2 years PPI from First National, as the loan was already paid up?
    Can anyone advise please?
Sorry this is a bit long winded but I really would appreciate any help
    Thanks
