    Evening everyone,
This is the letter I will be posting to HFC, should I include copies of my pension readout which shows how much death in service benefit I get, and also my works terms & conditions which states that I will receive 2 years sicness pay. Any guidelines or pointers would be greatly appreciated.

    Welcome back laini :hello:

    Dear Sir or Madam,

    Re: Account number: XXXXXXXX

I purchased the above policy from you on 16th April 2003 but now believe that I was mis-sold this policy for the following reasons:

    · This is due to the fact that you have been fined by the FSA for failing to treat your customers fairly when selling Payment Protection Insurance and I do not believe that my policy was sold in my best interests.
    · I have sickness absence cover from my employer which covers me for 2 years sickness pay
    · I have death in service benefit from my employer which pays 2 years salary

Unless you can satisfactorily justify to me that the policy was fair and reasonable I am requesting a full refund of all premiums, and subsequent interest on these payments, that I have paid to date. As I believe I have been deprived of this money I also expect 8% statutory interest, the amount a court would award, to be added to each payment made.

I look forward to a full and prompt response to this letter and for the matter to be concluded within eight weeks or I shall be contacting the Financial Ombudsman to investigate my complaint.

    Yours faithfully,

    Sparky0107

Sparky, was this a single premium?

Maybe mention this and the fact that you would be charged interest for the full term of the loan.;)

Cheers Di you're a star, the second acount I had with them started in April 2001, but the last payment was April 2003, is this within the claim time or am I wasting my time?

    Once again thanks

    No problem Sparky.
I think the HFC were regulated then in 2003, will double check it out but I am sure they were, you go for it.;)
If you don't try you will never know.......:D

Please let us know the outcome of this hun, and the very best of luck!

(just to let you know on one of my complaints, I still won the case within about 3 weeks and there were no quibbles), they were not regulated either, so you still have a chance with HFC either way.;)

Sparky, was this a single premium in which you could state you were charged interest on this for the term of the loan maybe. (did post it earlier but maybe enough reason as you were already covered)

    Hi marshallka,
    The CCA states
optional credit : Life - Decreasing term life assurance: Single

This is on both loan agreements, but my signature is in the PPI boxes, will they not just say, you signed it, get lost mister!

The letter is good but maybe mention a few other things too. Did you understand the single premium thing in that it was really another loan on top of your other loan and therefore you would be paying interest on it for the whole term?

Did the PPI actually cover your whole term of the loan?

Was you given an option without the PPI??

Just trying to give you more bullets.
