I've just email the 3rd party and prepared a letter to send cancelling there help in claiming back the PPI I think I will have to go to court or see a solicitor closer to home.

Done a search on their name on here and dont really like what I read.

I am blummin whacked. Its muder but will look good i hope...:j . I have woken up with a massive hemorrage of the eye again so look like a monster. I have had them before and this is the seventh one of the last few years. I am just glad I am working cause they worry me with the blood things I keep getting but at least I am occupied. ;)

Will try and catch up with everyone in a while. Just having a breather...

Okay, so I sent my first letter to Egg a few days ago, and this was based on the template on this site. I believe I was mis-sold PPI on my loan in September 2004 becuase the salesperson only quoted repayments inclusive of PPI, and no other options were discussed.

Anyway, this morning I got back a letter from egg. The letter stated thw following:

    Dear xxxxxxxx

I'm sorry that you have had to complain to us. Can I ask that you please ensure your contact details are up to date by logging into your account via the website and checking the information we are holding for you.

Our regulator, the FSA, requires that if we are unable to resolve your complaint to your satisfaction within eight weeks of receipt, we must contact you again and explain why. You can then (or sooner if you do not accept our earlier resolution) exercise your right to take your complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service. You have six months from the date of our resolution to do this.

In the vast majority of cases we resolve problems a lot quicker than thtis, be will keep in contact with you if we anticipate any delays or have any more information we need from you to help us resolve this complaint with you.

Thank you for letting us know about your problems you have experiences and for the opporunity to put things right.

So does it look like this is a good sign or a bad sign? Or is it purely a 100% standardised letter that I would have received irrespective of whether there is any intention to repay the PPI?

Definately a standard letter by the sound of it but I would get things moving with the FOS if they go much beyond 8 weeks. I think they must have lots of complaints to handle;) .
