PPI Reclaiming discussion Part III

Hello dreamer, I am glad this loan is paid off as if it wasn't if you won and Freedom took off the PPI the 25% would include this money even though you dont actually see it so you would have to find the money to pay the 25%.
For example I have a loan with £5000 PPI and a claim company win my case, the loan company take off the £5000 and repay me the amount I have already paid . I now owe the claim company 25% of the £5000 and 25% of the money refunded to me. So some people end up with no PPI and cheaper monthly payments but no money in their hand and still owing the claim company the rest of their 25% .
Also some companys give up on a case as soon as they find out the FOS cant help, they dont do the court route.
I am sure you are in good hands, I just didnt want you ripped off anymore than you have been. xx
Thanks pinknico
I made sure I found out as much as I could about the 3rd party before applying, they are registered on the ministry of justice website that all I could find really.
They helped a couple on this is money but the case ended up with FOS so I hope this does not happen or I will have to go to court and hope I win.
Have been reading up on wilki site today the "particulars of claim" are on there will use it if I have to.:wave:0 -

Just an update received a letter today from HFC Bank regarding Marbles loan from 2004 that we paid off early. They are investigating our complaint! I know it might be a stalling tactic at least we didn't get told to 'fluff off' first time:rotfl:
considering I was just trying it on as I'd already threw paperwork out their letter had an agreement number on, which I guess is our loan number.
Fingers crossed!
Hi Toffee Penny
Thanks for letting us know.;)
Yes it may be a stalling tactic or just the usual letter to confirm they received it and to assure you its being looked at.
However, if you have not heard from them after the 8 weeks you are entitled to still take the complaint to the FOS.;)
Good luck and hope its the winning result.:D

Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum and have just recently made 2 claims to try and get my PPI back. One is with Egg and the other is with the Alliance and Leicester.
Egg have replied and have stated that they will look at my complaint and that they can take up to eight weeks ( by law ? ) to come to a conclusion. Is this normal or am i being fobbed off ?
I'm still yet to hear from the Alliance and Leicester and i'm wondering how long can it take to get a reply as Egg responded within a week ?
I'm a total novice at these things so if anyone could put my mind at rest i would be very grateful.
Thanks and hello, Seb'.0 -
OH has a sainsburys credit card with ppi, can't remember when he got it or how he apllied. trying to reclaim ppi but have not even received the terms and conditions we requested yet. should i send the first template letter just to see how we get on anyone had any experience. can we cancel the ppi anyway first as its really expensive0

Hi and welcome.
Yes it is standard, they have 8 weeks to respond in full, however if you have not heard from them by then, you can then complain to the Financial ombudsman and explain to them on the complaint form they 8 weeks have passed where you have given the company the chance to resolve this.;)
If you do not get the response your hoping for, you may the chance to either write again with further information for them to reconsider, or until they send you a final response where they should enclose a leaflet explaining you can complain to the FOS if they are eligible.
Good luck

Hi hun
Does your OH have the agreement for this credit card?
If not you can request for this, but ask them first if there is a charge, sometimes they charge a £1 cheque for this and then put it into writing to request this, and they should send this to you by 12 days of request.
You could send a SAR, known as Subject Access request, they have 40 days from request to send the information to you, they must supply everything they have on your OH account(S).
However, there is a £10 cheque or postal order charge for this, I will post the SAR template for you in a post below when I find it and you can for now still send a reclaim template letter while waiting for the SAR to come back in which they have 8 weeks to get back to you with a full response.
I will add a link for this in another post as well with the info you require.
If your OH feels this was mis sold then I would give it a go.;)
If the PPI is not suited for your needs there are covers that are cheaper which are stand alone insurance, I will also add this for you in another post not to confuse you, then cancel the PPI if you want to, that one is up to you/OH. x

OK, thanks' for the quick response Di'.
How long would you wait for a response from the Alliance and Leicester, or, can they take up to eight weeks to reply or have Egg have just been courteous in letting me know the circumstances ?
Thanks, Seb'.0
