Hello everyone,
Quick message for Di re converting to interest only. I would hope all companies work the same as the one I work for when it comes to this but they probably don't!!
Customer would call to request conversion to interest only payments (so not paying anything of actual balance) and state reason why eg financial difficulty.
This would be referred to u/w to look into (I have never yet seen a decline enev on products with secured and unsecured lending so over 100% LTV). U/w will agree for either 6 or 12 months (you would then need to re request)
A reason why form and quote would be sent to you to confirm your reason for conversion and for signatures on quote. Return this and account converted to interest only (we will not convert any unsecured lending though).
£75 will be added to balance of account for fee for conversion.
We then write to you at end of 6/12 month period with quote on repayment basis and confirm we will convert account os of x date (again another £75 fee!!!)
The only way your credit report would be affected is if you didn't make full payment due to account or if you made no payments at all and this is only after 3 months. However, other companies might be different.
Hope this might be of some help.
Also wanted to say thanks for everyone's help for me in the past few weeks it's good to have somewhere to ask questions and not have to ring a call centre where you (or I) sometimes feel like the person on the phone doesn't care or doesn't know what they are talking about.0 -

Hi everyone
Just an update received a final response from FF today stating exhausted complaints process and they have no intention of further corresponding regarding the matter.
Called them foaming saying that they have not answered one single question in my complaints letters, would not hang up until they said would have a look.
Told them I have unanswered questions that I want answers to.
Called FOS to explain wrote a complaint letter and they have not answered any questions "WHAT A WASTE OF TIME" they said because loan 2004 could not look at it, I told them that my complaint letter has not been answered and that is what I am complaining about TOTAL WASTE OF TIME would not look at it,
It now appears I have to go to court or I may use one of those no win no fee companies, I know you have to pay a % but I don't care.
Hope everyone is fine.
FP eventually sent call recordings lol have not listened to them yet, just can't be bothered.
Gonna be a busy start to 2009 for us I think. xxxxxx
I hope you do not give up on it here and hope that the telephone convo's with Firstplus throw up some more damning evidence too.
What did Freedom actually say when you said about them not looking into anything you had complained about?? Did they hang up or you??
Have a good one..;)0 -
Hello again,
After a suprisingly easy claim with HFC, Egg and Barclaycard are putting up quite a fight. Egg sent the original loan documentation which doesn't include any information on the original application regarding the insurance apart from a single figure of approx £1034. They said additional documentation was supplied at the time and to their knowledge it was not mis-sold. However, I believe Egg used a pre-ticked PPI box until recently for online applications and the mention of their phone staff having no knowledge of insurance products and therefore cannot advise accordingly over the phone appears to be clutching at straws.
Think this should do for the second letter, but any suggestions would be welcome.
Barclaycard isn't quite the same battle, their denial of mis-selling the insurance was rather flimsy and I expect to have this claim upheld after the next letter.
Good luck with Barclaycard as well.;)0 -

I'd agree - they've sent a response to my first letter asking them for my money back and they have said that they don't use a pre-ticked option but instead have a drop down menu for people to choose. Of course, they've not sent any evidence as to this, so I'll certainly be asking for that in my next letterAlmost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0 -

Me neither. Got half a mind to stay in tomorrow and not go anywhere. If it wasn't for that leaving my Mum on her own, I wouldn't bother with it. New Year has never been something we've celebrated and I'm starting to think Xmas nothing more than an over-hyped disruption to the football calendarAlmost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0 -

Sometimes all the money in the world will not make someone happy... it can help but sometimes there is always something missing..you just have to get on with it I suppose.
Hope you have a good one Bathgatebuyer...:xmassmile0 -
Completely off topic and delete if you have to but just seen this about Colgate Toothpaste
Thousands of tubes of fake Colgate toothpaste have been recalled by Sainsbury's and Boots.
The 100ml tubes, labelled Colgate Cavity Protection, have been bought by thousands of customers at Sainsbury's and Boots stores.
The chains have sent warnings to customers who used loyalty cards for the purchase, but many others cannot be traced.
Warning: Thousands have bought the fake toothpaste, which may be contaminated with harmful chemicals, at Boots and Sainsbury's
In the past, fake Colgate toothpaste sold in the U.S. has been found to contain a toxic chemical used in anti-freeze.

I'm sure in the end I will do, but today has just been about people knocking my confidence - it's difficult enough to deal with this time of year if you're on your own, but when people stick the boot in, it makes it even more difficult.
I'll end up being ok if the telly is alright and I get stuck into a good book before tomorrow afternoon!Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0
