Its the second letter to our friends at TSB towers.
Thanks hun and if you remember, how long was it when you waited for the first letter?
Say for instance you received the first response within 6 weeks of the 8 weeks they have then yes it will be approx 14 days, and so on....;) .
I would give the FULL 14 days if that what it was then the following day if not heard then get a complaint form sent in to the FOS with copies of correspondence with the final letter.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

quick question
"If I do not receive a more favorable response within 14 days I shall be taking my complaint to the Financial Ombudsman"
How close have you stuck to the 14 days, do people normaly give it an extra week or so?0 -

Glad to see Freedom and FIrstplus are at least replying now...
Thanks for the info on Cassidy but I had a reply from the FOS saying there are jurisdiction issues on mine as although Cassidy took over from Miller (who were on my PPI docsand Miller went into liquidation) and also although Lloyds deal with everything anyway, they say that they cannot comment and their are some issues but it will take a few months to sort.0 -

I only waited a week to get the snotty first letter, then sent my second letter 2 weeks ago ( In which my wife corrected their spelling mistakes):D
I will say the usual thing I call them "muppets" lol.......:rotfl: :rotfl: , I know even my son with special needs have come across some spelling errors these muppets make lol.....:rotfl: :rotfl: .
Right then I know lots will still ask them to respond within 14 days and still get a reply but they may want to go all the way, if you received the first letter within the first week, they will more than likely respond by 6 - 7 weeks then......:o and go from the time they sent out the last letter. (on the date on the letter).;)
With a bit of luck though with your request they will get back sooner. x
Did they mention anything about the Financial Ombudsman on the first letter or giving you that chance to write to them again ?The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Ex-gratia or voluntary payment: It is sometimes suggested
that an interest addition is not taxable because it, or the
compensation on which it is calculated, is paid “ex-gratia” or
voluntarily. We accept that a truly voluntary payment cannot
be interest, even if described as such, because the essential
feature of an entitlement to it is absent. In practice, however,
we consider it will be extremely rare for any payment arising
from claims that a financial product has been mis-sold to be
truly voluntary, since the redress is given in consideration of
the complainant giving up a right of action
Well that dosent make it any clearer, but I believe you can put it against your tax code and pay nothing.DS1 12/10/04
