    Jamie says thanks all.:T :A ;) .

I'm nervous letting him out in the car on his own now though....... , he bought his own car about 2 months ago, its a lovely colour in spearmint, a 2 door Vauxhall Corsa SXi, only 2 year old and there was a one lady owner before him, its well looked after and has all the extra's, its a typical car these youngters want, so as long as he behaves himself...... , its a worry.... .

My hubby has Subaru Impreza, he has had this for coming up 4 years I think, it may be 3 yrs lol, and he worked like h*ll for that car, but really due to the expense of things these days we should sort of downgrade........but its his baby........ .

Oh thats a sporty car, even though he has his own, I'm assuming you may also have lost yours lol

  • Hi everyone
I feel kind of stupid as i have just found an old A&L loan aggreement from 2002 with PPI on it, I settled the loan in 2006 and to my knowledge i would not have aggreed to this at the time (I always opted for no insurance on loans) this was a refinanced loan from a previous one. I contacted A&L today and they have lodged my complaint and given me a reference number, am i time barred as the 6 years from taking out the loan ended last year or do i still have a chance the PPI total was £2129!!! i cant believe i aggreed to that if only moneysaving expert were around then!!

To be honest I dont really remember if I opted for it, I know it wasnt explained to me in the store and as I am a student I dont know if I would have been covered for it anyway?

    L xxxx

I think with ppi you had to be in full-time employment or over 16hrs, however as you were a student the banks should have picked up on this.

Go for it you have nothing to lose. good luck

Yes Jamie is lucky to have quite a sporty looking car, although its an SXi, its only a 1.2, otherwise the insurance will sting....... , its bad enough anyway......

    Hi hun
Get a letter into them, check this link out here:
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance

On the link you will find some useful information on ppi which will give you some ideas and you will also come across a template, try to write in your own words as much as you can.
They have 8 weeks to respond.

As soon as you get a response, let us know and we will guide you to the following step, do not be disheartened to receive a fob off letter first time round, this is what happens to the main of us, as you can finally take to the financial ombudsman if not successful, but we will work on that one if we have to.

Post your letter by recorded post for your proof and to keep an eye on the 8 weeks.;)

Good luck, we are with you all the way.

If this was to refinance another when was the earlier one and did that one have PPI too?

Not sure I found the loan aggreement for the 2002 one but will have to have a search about in the loft to see if there was a previous one, is there not a time limit on these for claiming?
