  • I wonder if anyone out there can help me? Back in January I contacted first plus about ppi and they gave me a choice £2000 good will gesture (original ppi was for 7000) or go to fos. At the time the £2000 seemed like a good offer so I took it after signing a disclaimer. With hindsight I feel that I have once again been taken in by this company and would like all of my money back! Because I signed the disclaimer have I now signed away all rights to getting all of my money back???

    Would appreciate some advice please

    Hello

There's quite a difference in the amounts, if you have the opportunity now at this stage to go to the FOS I would do that, its up to you but its a lot of money there for the full whack of the PPI etc.

If you want to download a form, you can do this on the FOS website I will add below or ring them to send one through the post.

When you have completed the forms, gets these photocopied, keep one for yourself, obviously one to the FOS with copies of correspondence from the finance company, also send one to the finance company, and tell them you have now moved this on to the Financial ombudsman service to investigate, where you enclose a copy for their records.
(they may even change their minds, while your complaint is within the FOS) if that is the case and your successful, then just let the FOS know.;)

Good luck with this and post up anytime, where myself or others here will be able to help as well.

Regarding the disclaimer, was it only recently you signed that?
Wonder if you could cancel this going through if its only now you signed this, tell them you since looked into this more, and realised since working it out you made a mistake in signing this,and/or just explain this to the FOS as well, as part of your complaint.

Maybe someone else can help on this matter as well, with their opinions, so please keep checking for further postings, just in case, cheers X

Hi Soontobesensible. I believe that if you signed in "full and final settlement" that means exactly that. Have you thought about looking for unfair settlement. Is this loan still ongoing or have you finished it or settled early.

Think that is the only way forward.

Hi, just to let you know I have taken NORTON FINANCE to the FOS, as I felt I had been 'fiddled' by them with regards to a loan.... Unfortunately they couldn't help with the loan as it was over £25,000 - BUT they did find NORTON guilty of mis-selling me a PPI! I am know just waiting for the settlement from NORTON!!! Try the FOS - it doesn't cost you anything but might take a few months.... GOOD LUCK!!!!
