Hi and thanks Di
Yes, I had a quick look but it will take more than one attempt to try to get my head round all of this!
Yes......it is a hugh amount of money and would completely change my life around. I will keep checking in to see how others (especially those with a complaint against Picture) get on.
Thanks for your time.
Your very welcome SuzySu.:A
Hopefully it will be sometime later or maybe tomorrow now that Pinknico will post up.;)

Reclaiming my PPI from alliance & leicester.
Arranged a loan over the phone and took PPI and was thinking of claiming back the PPI because i was not told and never new that interest was charged on the PPI and that i had insurance cover with barclays on all my loans and cards yet was never asked by A&L.
Anyway i got a letter from A&L today telling me i may have been mis-sold PPI and was just wanted to know if anyone else got this letter as they have put in a pre paid envelope to a dedicated PPI team and i was wondering if i need to fill in the SAR form from this site.
I am using a different name because my real name is my other handle and i don't want it to pop up anywhere.
TIA for any help i recieve

SuzySu, the best thing to do is get in touch with the FSCS and say you believe you were mis sold and they will send out the forms.
Were you told the policy was only for 5 years?
Were you told interest would be added to the PPI amount?
Were you told you would only be covered for 12 months of payments if unemployed?
Were you told you could get it cheaper elsewhere?
All these things and many more are considered not in your best interest or mis selling.
Dont delay get the forms and we will help you fill them out.:DDS1 12/10/04

I would just write to them and say you already had insurance (would this have covered ALL loans)and this was not discussed by A& L and also that interest was added was not disclosed either and anything else you can think of. Return this letter in the envelope and hopefully they will get back with a positive result. If not then we can go down the SAR route.
But the fact they have contacted you is good.DS1 12/10/04

Thanks Pinknico (sorry, my thanks button does not work from my work computer)TBH I have absolutely no idea what they told me. I have kept all the paperwork and I think I read somewhere that I can ask for a transcript of the call for £10 (can't remember the technical name for it). I do know that if I have not missed more than two payments (I haven't) and have not claimed anything on the policy then I am entitled to 25% back in year 3, 15% in year 4 and 10% in year 5. Is this usual?YOUR = belonging to you (your coat); YOU'RE = you are (I hope you're ok)
really....it's not hard to understand :T0 -

Yes this is the way they sell it, what they dont tell you is that you will still continue to pay the interest on it for the term of the loan so will probably pay 5 times as much for your ppi than what they refund:eek:
Yes you can ask for an SAR to get all the information.DS1 12/10/04

Cancelling the PPI on a credit card is straightforward, just make sure they actually do it! Did you send the request recorded?DS1 12/10/04
