  • Attached to the letter from RBS was a copy of the agreement and the box was ticked. Should I still go for the SAR?
  • write back stating that you do not accept their answer, and request that they either investigate further or close the complaint to allow for submission to the Financial Ombudsmen.

I would but its up to you. It may have other information in it... eg proof of this not being a postal application... as it goes back to 1997 though its only a chance...;) . If that was me, I would risk a tenner... its up to you though.

And also write back to them if this is not their final response and do what incipience says above...

When you take this to the FOS as RBS are a bank and you actually only just became aware I don't think the 6 year rule would apply here..most likely RBS would have been part of the Old Banking Ombudsman and certain rules can be applied,

    Good luck

Are you on about a rebate of the PPI here or a rebate against the loan??

If this is PPI you should have done as this is unfair. (TCF)

You need to request a breakdown of the settlements and see.

There is a link here about this

  • Hi back in 03 I took out a mortgage with the a&l. I beleive that the ppi I took with the policy was miss sold. I have wrote to them twice and have twice been fobbed off with them stating I had been sent all the info and could have cancelled at anytime. Have I lost or should I go to the ombudsman?

Not sure if I have a case, has anyone else won a mortgage related ppi claim ( have searched cannot see)
  • whats your basis for miselling?
  • Hi guys
sorry if im off topic - its my first posting.

on friday i turned up for work (at zavvi) and was made instantly redundant. My main worry is my bank loan which i pay £350 a month on. I HAVE payment protection (is that what PPI refers to?) but a friend told me HSBC dont payout till 60 days after im made redundant??? Where am i supposed to get £700 from if i dont get a job??? Ive paid over £3,000 and now im panicking yet i thought protection was to ease my mind... BUT i am just going on what people tell me

I called into HSBC today to ask about the policy and i was told they arent trained for that and i need to call the call centre...??? I treid to ring but couldnt get through...

Ive been reading allsorts on here and its VERY VERY interesting. HSBC DEFO misold me my PPI as they WOULD NOT authorise the loan unless i took out the protection... Their exact words when they gave me the quote when i asked about a quote WITHOUT the protection was "we may have to reconsider your application if protection isnt taken! I thought it was odd as the brochure said OPTIONAL ppi...

anyone help? im stressing out as it is with mortgage that has NO protection and car insurance that includeds NO REDUNDANCY clause.... !
