British Gas provide electricity to domestic customers. Perhaps the mention of 'gas' in their name confuses you?

Your citing of Ebico where consumption is twice the national average is a ridiculous straw man.

...PS You're comparing online accounts with a company that sends you fully itemised paper bills. Stop blustering because you've been found out.

£30+ for producing each paper bill

Sounds like a bargain ... not!

I remember them from when I was a UW customer. They were so 'fully itemised' as to be completely unintelligible. When I had fully decoded them (with some help) I found I was being overcharged. Took ages to get a refund.

Discussion on the uw is only allowed in its specified thread.

However this did not stop a uw rep posting (here and elswhere) their usual misleading claims about the company.

In cases like this two wrongs are required, as otherwise the restrictions imposed on uw discussions are meaningless if their reps can ignore them on grounds of ignorance and post elsewhere, knowing that "experienced posters" on the subject cannot point out their lies (for the benefit of any gullible reader) as this is breaking the rules!

I don't know why I'm dignifying your ridiculous attempt at a wind up with a serious response but hey, count it as my good deed for the day (I have already taken another old person across a busy main road so that's actually 2 now) but just for informational purposes I've been throwing some figures at the UW calculation page and, in my Yokshire region, you would have to be using less than 1800 kwhs per year to be better off with Ebico compared to UW**. Wait a minute, aren't Ebico a 'not for profit' energy supplier?? So, yet another argument bites the dust.

** And, YES, I have included the £21 club fee in my calculations.

PS And if you'd actually bothered to read the whole thread before going into 'grumpy old person' mode it would have become crystal clear why I mentioned Ebico - my post was in response to the poster stating UW must be expensive as they pay commission. Apart from Ebico, please tell me another energy supplier who doesn't pay commissions/make profit so that I can compare their prices as well.
