I've installed a new pc today
I needed to save a lot of emails from my old pc so used a freeware download and they all saved as an EBK file which I Stored on an external HD
I'm trying to import this back but can't because Microsoft Outlook wants it to be a .pst file
can anyone help?

Can you not use the freeware program that saved them in that format to restore them ?.0

Can you not copy the Outlook PST file from your old PC, onto your external HD and then onto your new PC?0

As Cuddles says, the easiest way is to copy the PST from your old computer, and copy it to your new one. The PST file is the Outlook file containing all your contacts, calendars, tasks, emails etc.
It is normally found in: C:\Documents and Settings\YourUserName\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook
And is called "outlook.pst"
Copy this from the old PC to the new one, in the same location.0 -
I've managed to do it using the program I used to save them

it's restored all the old emails and contacts and is receiving new emails
