  • When I was younger there was something about called Flower Fairies / Fairys, they were certainly how I imagined them to look and probably quite a few on ebay.
Real men never follow instructions; after all they are just the manufacturer's opinion on how to put something together. :p

Ahh, this thread made me smile!! I think the adopt a fairy is a cool idea, maybe you could sneak some fairy things into your daughters room on xmas eve ... a bit like the tooth fairy!
  • I like the door on this site you could put the wrapped fairy just bedside it on the skirting board

then as gift from the fairy do a fairy basket/ hamper for her with lots of fairy dust a wand etc..

my daughter is 5 and all she wants for xmas is a real fairy and nothing else i've been looking about for something santa could give her with a note about how it would be cruel to keep areal fairy but can't find anything suitable as a fairy, I would like it to look lifelike and have some clothes on! some i've looked at are rather risky. I'm not very crafty either so couldn't make one, has anyone got any suggestions I'm at my wits end.
    ta very much x

tell her in a note from Santa that fairies are magical and can't be catched, they move as quick as lightening and if you do catch them, they magic themselves away again, Santa knows how much she really wants a airy of her very own so he hopes this is ok, attach it to the present of a fairy doll like

If my typing is pants or I seem partcuarly blunt, please excuse me, it physically hurts to type. :wall: If I seem a bit random and don't make a lot of sense, it may have something to do with the voice recognition software that I'm using!

Fletty - I'm glad you liked the idea, glad to help. I've got two boys, so there's no requests for fairies in my house.
  • Just a wee note to say there's that part in Peter Pan when each time the children clap their hands a fairy flaps her wings. Could you turn this into somehow telling her that SHE is a present to fairies and she should always clap her hands for them.

For what it's worth, I think your wee girl sounds brilliant, not asking for all the usual carp but something she's obviously imagined up. Well done you!

for xmas 2008 i bought alot of people fairy doors so that the fairies can get in and out of the house easiy anhd safely from lavender pillow, i found the service good and they issue a paypal invoice (which i prefer for fraud saftey reason online) they were received very well by friends and family as its cruel to catch and hold fairies against their wills they need to be free spirits to roam as they please but at least that way they can get in and out of her bedroom. they even sell them on ebay too
