In my opinion Egg will have given you what they consider to be a reasonable limit for starters. You should be patient and wait longer than two weeks before applying for an increase!!

I waited about 4 months to prove I could make my minimum payments on time before my finger itched forward to the button to request an increase. I started off with £4K, then increased to £6K, and finally increased to £10K, but I'm now more or less at the end of my intro period. Husband started off with £6, waited for 3-4 months increased to £10K and about 2-3 weeks later increased to £15.

MrB, it`s at least 3mths before you should have attempted to raise limit! Impatiance has cost you ,their system may not let you for 6mth from last attempt, as you claim to have read previous thread on subject all this was mentioned, this board is great for learning from other peoples mistakes.

Was there a llife before moneysaving -- I can't remember.

A good time to ask for an increase from egg would be just before the end of your 0% deal. Egg will think you are going to borrow some more.

Of course you will pay off thebalance so the extra limit won't be much use for you -- until your anniversary of card opening comes around that is.

Wait a minimum of 4 months, preferably six before upping it, then try to take it straight to 15k in one go !

If you keep getting rejected then theres no point in repeatedly tryign to up the limit as it will all be logged, and probably take you even longer to up your limit than it otherwise have taken.

I had an egg card for 1 month with an initial 3.5k limit. Someone in work mentioned they were getting luck upping their limit - so I had a go. Tried 8k and got it. Thought what the heck and went for 12k the same day and got refused. Few days later - upped it to 10k.

Following week upped it to 11k, then 12k following day, then 13k, then finally 15k in less than 2 weeks!!! ;D

Two other guys in work have also done the same thing - but one other guy was getting turned down - dunno what it goes on - might be salary - but there is definately a bug there. you arent supposed to get an increase for 6 months - but it does work trust me for some people!
To Stooze or Not To Stooze - Theres only one option :D

I upped mine once - 6K to 9K, during my anniversary.

Tried again & was refused. someone from Egg called - said they needed more details to approve the new limit & asked me where all the BTs had gone...!

That could be because you upped it by £3k. You need to ask online for just £2k each time so that the computer makes the decision instead of a person.
