    Do any of you great OStylers and thrifty ones have any ideas how I could use up 3 pears (v.ripe and soft, just about to go bad) and 4 eating apples (again v.ripe and soft)

    I am trying not to throw food away anymore as this is one of my money wasting habits:o

    Any ideas would by very welcome, thanks in advance:T

    I sometimes stew them up with sugar and raisins and then serve with my porridge ;)

    Or you could do a crumble?

    I'm sure I've seen quanitities on this board, but basically mash the pears and use to replace same quantity of mashed banana in a recipe.

    Look up in the index or google 'apple cake' or 'apple muffin' and you'll find lots of great recipes. Cheap and healthy, too, because you'll need very little extra sugar.

    When they're done, can I come round and have some warm from the oven? I've got a scary job interview this afternoon and I need comfort food!
