  • hi, i have some fruit that was lovely local fruit - a few bruised pears and some sad looking apples? I am loathed to throw - sad i know! :rolleyes: but any suggestions as to what i could do with them. i enjoy cooking but am at a loss :confused:

    any ideas appreciated!

    pear and apple crumble! especially if you have individual small tins......as you don't have a whole lot of the fruit...

    Ooh I was in the same boat a couple of days ago- we get apples and pears in our organic veg box and there's always a few left over.
    I peeled and cored them, melted some butter (1oz), added some brown sugar and 1 tsp of cinema and stewed them for about 5-6 mins... then, you can just have it with ice cream, custard, make a crumble topping, have it on it's own... whatever!

    I have some apples and pears (fruit, not the ones you walk up...) that are overripe and are about to be binned....but no, I thought I will ask the good people on OS for some suggestions! :confused:
