Icewytch - Happy Birthday - I dice with death in the same way too - usually with the radio and a footie match. The dd's are very sweet when I'm off for a mega bath and bring cups of tea and bacon sarnies - bliss.
dd(12) has been offered a choice of trips today - into town for a free museum or charity shopping in twickenham - she chose charity shops - yay! She has a tenner to spend as her Father thinks that that's her weekly pocket money and she didn't tell him othewise - she gets half that from me on a Mummy Weekend.
I never did get to Mr T last night so it will be Freezer Roulette again for tea.I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080 -

Happy Birthday Icywytch - have a fab meal.
Gorgeous day by the looks of it - the car was iced over which DH wasn't keen about on his first day back after a few days off.
Had to give in and put the heating on for an hour first thing so that DH didn't freeze his assets getting out of the shower, only set the stat to 16 degrees and it was enough to take the chill off the house.
Picked loads of hawberries over the weekend and they've been pulped and squished for wine - they smell vile though....not sure what it will taste like but willing to give it a go.
My parents are coming for the day today and bringing a huge box of goodies...in the form of glass dishes/plates/bowls/decanters that they rescued from a friend of theirs - will be interesting to see what's there and what nice bits I can put on my dresser. Will be going out to do a bit of Xmas shopping with them too.
Dinner tonight will be homemade turkey burgers, I add soda bread, bread crumbs, a big handfull of cheese and a large chopped onion to the meat and they turn out lovely. Will serve with homemade buns for DD's and a few potato wedges...might make some coleslaw too if I remember to buy a cabbage whilst I'm out.
Hope you all have a great day."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Oops forgt to say Happy Birthday to Icewytch also to Fifer   have a great day.

Morning all,
Icewytch, Happy Birthday. Enjoy your day.
Jackie O, I hope you enjoyed your gin last night...you certainly deserved it!
Churchie, Congratulations on your new granddaughter. I hope you get over to see her soon.
Snowy, Thinking of you and Dylan. I hope he had a good night last night. x
E'lass, tried to find that recipe for you, but the search is playing up for me at the moment. I'll have another look later.
Another early start here despite it being half term. I think it's the clock going back that's disturbing me because we get the sun on our bedroom window first thing. Unfortunately the sun has gone now and we have sleet, which is probably just as well as I have paperwork to do today for work and as usual, I've left it until the last minute. So a day in the house will suit me. I made an apple braid yesterday and it went down well. I want to make wheaten bread later if I can find the recipe. Dinner tonight will be stew and homemade bread then I'm off out to work this evening.
Have a good day everyone.

Morning all, playing a waiting game today, told you yesterday that DH was poorly on Sunday and didnt go into work for overtime, well he went off for his normal shift yesterday and was sent straight home like a naughty schoolboy!!! As he is working for an agency he rang them straight away to put them in the picture and they knew nothing about it, so now we are waiting to see whether the factory has sacked him or whether he is just being punished. How pathetic, he has worked there 5 months and done loads and loads of overtime for them, we just cant believe how petty they are being!
Its very cold here today and have got heating on low, all washing is done and most of the clothes are dry on airer.
Must think of something to do with 1lb mince for dinner, made lentil and bacon soup yesterday with curry and paprika which was very warming and tasty!
I have a wall to emulsion later on, that got badly marked with all the stuff coming downstairs from the old bathroom suite, but i have plenty of spare paint for that.
Well thats my day sorted, Happy Birthday, Congrats to people who are celebrating and ((((HUGS)))) to all who need them, BSB xx0 -
Hello everybody
I've had an awfully busy time over here and have only just scratched the surface at MSE. As well as my usual babysitting duties we've been getting YS house ready for rental. We've already got a tenantwho moves in a couple of weeks. Scrubbing walls, painting, mowing blah blah blah. Have another weekend of it coming up as well. He's arriving back on Monday so he will can help as well.
On the OS front been tackling the carrots, elderflower cordial, bread & butter cucumbers & tomorrow hope to make some eggplant chutney. I also made up some HM furniture polish as YS has a lovely wall in pine. After washing it down I put it on and it's come up lovely. The leftovers I used for our furniture.
JackieO That's fantastic news. You really are a fantastic role model. Not saying your old mind you.Well not as old as CM.
Icewytch Happy Birthday. :beer:What island do you live on?
Snowy What an awful predicament. At least your being a realist. <hugs>
HH What a treat the students in Essex are going to have.
CM Congratulations. I've already raised quite a few glasses to christen her head.
Hopefully I'll get to pop back in a bit sooner but I have DGS the next three days & nights. No rest for the wicked.<hugs> to those not well or down etc. Sounds a bit chilly over there.
It's nice and warm over here. Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0
