Found a kitten

It is my daughter who found this kitten and the road he was on is a very busy main road and he was in danger, the road my daughter found him on is just around the corner from where she lives, every day she has gone out knocking on doors and has put up posters if he was wanted the owners would have come forward by now because they would not be able to miss the posters ,if he was my kitten I would have been out looking for him.0

Though someone did call about the notice I had posted, far as I know they weren't his owner....I told them to call the vets and gave them the number. I don't know if it was the right thing to do as his real owners could still be out there somewhere but I haven't seen any posters or anyone looking for a kitten as yet and I told anyone I could see where they could find me if anyone did come looking.
I still stand by my view that at four months it was too young to be out, especially unnetured. Cats can breed from the age of four months and although mine were desperate to get out I did not let them until they had been done. To be honest it took them a while after they were let out to figure out how to get out of my walled garden!
I really do hope that someone does come forward for him, I did not find out until fairly recently that the RSPCA put healthy animals down and thats where he is going if no one does claim him.......but on the other hand he is a kitten so I know he stands a good chance of getting rehomed before it comes to that.
Thanks for all your support, I was so unsure I had done the right thing but like I said before it was because he was so young I took him in, with two cats of my own I am not in the habit of stealing other peoples cats!
Ah don't worry, I think you did the right thing. None of us can say what we would have done at the time as none of us were there. You did what your heart told you to do.
I'm in Edinburgh, I do have a cat, been looking for an excuse to find him a little friend though :rotfl:
I think I might be known as the 'cat lady' when I am old, pretty sure I'll probably have a house full of themJust because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0 -

Wish I could
How is s/he doing? Hope your cats aren't bullying it too much :rotfl:Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0 -
I think he is doing fine, I don't have him here still I took him to the vets on Tuesday to check if he was chipped and they said it was probably best if they kept him there as my two aren't vaccinated (I'm saving up to get it done). I think one of the nurses at the practice might take him on though I'm not sure, the vet said they would call me to let me know what happens.
But when he was here he certainly wasn't shy, he stood up for himself and my two ran off with their fur all fluffed up despite the fact they are both twice the size of him! I really would like to take him back once his seven days is up but my landlord wouldn't be best pleased!0 -

Aww, I want him :rotfl: I'm not sure how my cat would be with a new addition, he's an indoors cat so is used to getting all the attention.Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0 -
Thank you for caring, take no notice of people who judge you. The kitten is now safe, all I ask is that you do phone very rescue place, police and vets within a 5 mile radius, you would be surprised at how far they can travel.
I wish there were more caring people such as yourself out there. Maybe we wouldn't have so many cruelty cases.
Good luck x:A *Anything is possible* :A0 -
Thank you all for all your kind words and support.....its been greatly appreciated.
Just an update really, I called the vets today to check how the kitten was doing and apparently he has been re-homed! I amn soo glad as I know he is not going to end up at the RSPCA. Though I am a bit confused cause I thought the vets said they would keep him for seven days beforehand.....
But I am so happy because now I know he will be safe and looked after.0 -
Well done! you can rest assured he will now be cared for and loved, thanks to you x Animals will tend to show up when you need them. Now look at your own life, what can the kittens problems show up in your own life? do you feel a little lost? need help from a friend? I know this sounds strange, but really, animals mirror our own journey's in life.

Can't believe people were having a go at the OP.
If the kitten was old enough to be let out by itself then it is old enough to be chipped.
Well done you I would have done exactly the same.0
