    Hi all

As it's pay day on Monday and I'm not going anywhere near the shops tomorrow, I'm going to declare at £156.53. A little over our budget but not too bad.

OH thought I was having a nervous breakdown today when I burst into tears because I wanted a chinese takeaway....Have had a rubbish afternoon standing in the rain at a craft fair and just wanted comfort food. Finally reined in the pregnancy hormones, saw the light and the fact that there is nothing in our budget for a takeaway and just cooked up the mince that we'd taken out the freezer. Chilli and rice bulked out with porridge oats! 3 spare portions in the freezer for later on as well so I was quite pleased.

Will be very glad when I finish work on Christmas Eve the stairs to the office are a killer in the morning!...only another 4.5 weeks to go :)

Please can you put me down for £200 in December. This is more as I'll be batch cooking and also stocking the cupboards for January as well. Got the meal plan sorted for December and half way through January too (although that will be subject to change as and when this little wriggler decides to appear!)
JennyBee, that goes with the pg territory, I sobbed coz I burn't the sausages when pg with DS1.

Back to GC picked up a bag of windfalls from a gate up the road yesterday , sign saying "FREE windfalls" please take; these will be peeled and chopped and frozen for use in the future.

Have noticed in the last week that Mr T has changed the price of value flour 3 times, first it was 33p then up to 43p then back down to 33p now it is back up to 43p.

It makes comparison shopping very difficult.
    My self & hubby; 2 sons (30 & 26). Hubby also a found daughter (37).
Eldest son has his own house with partner & her 2 children (11 & 10)
Youngest son & fiancé now have own house.
    So we’re empty nesters.
    Daughter married with 3 boys (12, 9 & 5).
My mother always served up leftovers we never knew what the original meal was. - Tracey Ulman

Right my chuckies, I am off on the ole shopping trip 2moz after church and I am dreading it. We are going to Morrisons and I only have £40 at a push to spend and that is to feed 3 of us. Including dinner for me but when my mum is not about I try not to eat but she is here most days arghh.

We still have some things in but I am limited what I can eat. I have been naughty and had bad foods. Need to stick to very low fat next week, quorn and chicken. Only problem is my dad and daughter dnt eat quorn.

Going to have a nosy at recipes on here see if I can gain some cheap ideas.

    Hi,

Have you thought about vegie meals? You could make a stir fry and add quorn for yourself, then with the left over veggies you could make bubble and squeak for the next day. How about a macaroni cheese made with carrots, broccoli, cauli etc then mixed with the pasta and sauce poured over the top. I have a low fat (sw) recipe for curry sauce and you could add a bag of frozen veggies to it - we've done this for years and the mixture of tastes and flavours is wonderful. Egg foo yung is really easy, healthy and cheap - let me know if you want the recipe.

  • cw18 - so sorry to hear of your loss, my thoughts are with you and your family.

Looking forward to nice Roast Dinner today as it's so cold outside - having Roast Beef and all the trimmings, also serving it with HM Stuffing (thanks to MRSMC) as it makes the meat go further and will mean there will be enough left to make Curry for tomorrow night's dinner.:D

Going off now to update Freezer Inventory as my month runs out on Wednesday and need to think about what to set December GC at.;)

    Have a good day everyone.

BIG HUGS, MUCH LOVE AND YOU ARE IN MY THOUGHTS XXXXXXX

well I had Mr T deliver today which has well and truly blown the budget for November BUT the majority of what I bought is for christmas so should mean that very little needs to be spent next month.

Im a bit disapointed with Mr T though - not only did the driver comment twice on how much shopping I had which I thought was a bit rude - (i spent £175 after discounts had been applied) but instead of the 1 litre baileys, I was supplied with the more expensive 70 cl which I refused.

I was also sold a packet of market value peppers - but the packet contained 2 1/2 peppers? (one pepper had been chopped in half) (phone call made and refund to be issued)

Also despite my commenting - no substitutes on some items or sub for offer, they obviously didnt pay attention when my shopping was being picked and so I have probably been charged a few quid more than I should have been.

There was too much shopping really to be able to identify those items I didnt want and I think tesco should perhaps tag the bags with the substituted items in.

I did manage to get all my xmas wine though and take advantage of the 25% off :D

They're not only supposed to bag your substitutes separately (and pass you those first), they should also be itemised at the top of the list you get handed by the driver when you answer the door -- or that was certainly the case when I gave than a few chances to get it right a few years back.

Hi its hard in this house lol as my dad and daughter and me all like different things. I can not eat curry sauce at the moment due to gall stones arghh. The mac and cheese sounds lush will give that a try.

Not sure if I can eat eggs, I love em too lol I will look into it and see.

I use to be at slimming world but did not like it I sold all my books too. I never seemed to loose weight with them but since being ill with gall stones I have lost over a stone in weight in 2 months .

OH AND NOTE TO THE SPAMMER BOG OFF WE ARE HAPPY WITH THIS ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I am really sorry for your loss CW18. My thoughts are with you and your family.

I went through cupboards and freezer today before doing the weekly food shopping, and spent £21.07. That's to last until next weekend so I'm really chuffed. Even managed to have treats too (mr T value teacakes 26p for 4 - fantastic for when children come home from school)

As a newbie I said £10 a day but I included toiletries, food, petrol and other bits. I'll stick with that until end of year and section it all off in January when I have a better idea where I do actually spend it all!)
