How Not To Sell Your Home In A Housing Crisis

Some of those look more like scene of crime shots.
I did wonder whether a lot of them might be repo's, in which case no-one is going to feel like bothering to tidy up are they?
I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

I personally get rather excited at such hell holes! lol!
Think of the price you could get it for?!0 -
when we came to view this house, the lady of the house was in the middle of doing her washing as it was lying on the kitchen floor0

I don't understand what are you amused at.
are there any people in this world who will not understand the washing in the middle of a kitchen is not to stay there forever and ever even after they buy a house and they will be able to remove the bucket after they move in?
I feel like being amused at these people rather than sellers who don't bother clean their ashtray - after all if someone does not have enough of brain cells to understand throwing away the ashtray is not laborious and expensive can not deserve consideration:DThe word "dilemma" comes from Greek where "di" means two and "lemma" means premise. Refers usually to difficult choice between two undesirable options.
Often people seem to use this word mistakenly where "quandary" would fit better.0 -
I've worked as an EA near Gatwick, and we had a flat that was blatantly being used as a knocking shop - now THAT was an interesting place to take photos in
Then there was the over-crowded 2 bed house where the family would insist on doing things like cooking on an open fire in the middle of the living room (I mean literally in the middle of the carpet). They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0 -
im not sure what im buying here, is it the debris or the actual house???
that is revolting!...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

It can't help to sell a house if it is literally knee-deep in rubbish, clothes, etc, though....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

Hey! Who's put pictures of my house on Rightmove
Not really :rotfl:
You'd have thought, if you were the agent trying to sell that, you'd just leave those pictures off! Unless they have put them up to make sure prospective buyers know what they're getting and so don't waste the agent's time.0 -
As far as I can see, EAs are damned if they talk up a property, and damned if they reveal it's true state. However, there are plenty of instances where, even in tidy homes, you can't call what they do 'photography.' I'm not joking when I say that I've had better-composed shots from a well taught 3 year old, than the ones I see contributed to Rightmove by certain agents.0

Going back to these original pictures, there's surely a load of EA speak that can gloss over such superficial untidiness and such like :
The rooms are 'homely' not a 'disgusting mess'
The garden is 'ecologically diverse' rather than an 'overgrown jungle'
And finally, those tiny loos that look like trap 1 and trap 2 in a public lavatory are a 'minimalistic sanitisation opportunity'
Maybe I should change careers? Things are looking up at last! :rotfl:All I seem to hear is blah blah blah!0
