We used ESS and still have a maintenance contract with them. My guess is they aren't the cheapest (£200 PA for a monitored alarm) but I have found them very good as a company - if you have a problem with the alarm there is always someone at the end of the phone and someone will come out to do a check the same day or next day if something is wrong. Mostly what has been wrong is a spider in the sensor
It is great peace of mind. 0 -

We have a monitored alarm as well, costs us just over 200 quid a year but I feel safer with it. We originally got it from Scottish Gas, cost about 400 quid to install 10 years ago. Its also serviced twice a year which is included in your monthly fee. Prices might have come down since then and newer models of system so it could work out cheaper now.0

My alarm company insists that you must have two separate key holders who are available by phone and who can get to your property within 20 minutes of being contacted should you not be able to respond to an alarm yourself. This, they say, is a condition imposed by the police.
Each key holder can have their own unique numerical code, making it easier for them to remember. If you ever suspected someone was going into your house when you're out you can find out which key holder, and when. Response arrangements and key holding requirements might be something else that you consider when you make your final choice of alarm company. I find the 20 minute rule rather restrictive as I am a "blow in" and am not happy about leaving my key with neighbours who are away at work all day anyway.0 -
Above discussion is great but if you can contact a security company in your area they will deal with all issues and give all the information necessary to you. I would recommend Ireland's leading security company please see: Mcmsecurity.com0
