Guys.....anyone know what you should be paying for twice annual maintenance, plus monitoring, typical costs and names of companies...we just think our current company is shafting us!!

We are paying £196 annually for a one yearly check and for monitoring. I think this is too much as well :( Just paid for this year but will def look into some of the monitoring equipment mentioned for next year! Thanks.

just a tip for you all
there is a forum on a website called security installer cant remeber the full link but they are profesional installers that will give you advice and there is no charge as long as you know your make and model of alarm box. and they will also advice you the best bits of add on kits for the specific boxes etc.

p.s the website above for bits brewtime you wont find much cheaper supplier on the uk net if you do let me know as i still do the odd install every now and again

dont worry about opning the box its just your normal code that you put in when you set and unset your alarm.

inside the box the panel will only tell you who made the panel i.e texecom, ade amongst others you will then have to do a search on the internet for the make.9/10 oyu will find the box and model number.

just one point is the make not on the keypad..?

Those we love don't go away,They walk beside us every day,Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear

    Are thinking of you today.

Cascade Blinds do 4 verticals (any size) for £150. Excellent to deal with and blinds were great quality. Both myself and my daughter have used them

You can buy vertical blinds from argos etc and fit them yourself if money is tight. It's very very fiddly though getting them all even....
  • Locksmiths - if your doors and windows are PVC double glazed just go to B&Q or somewhere like that and just buy new barrels - they are really easy to replace yourself. We were charged £80 to have a locksmith change 2 door locks when we moved into our house - discovered the following week that the 2 barrels only cost £13 each - those were the days before MSE!
