Stupid question about Irish Sea

  • Hi Tarry

I crossed the Irish Sea 2 years ago in December. The weather was bad that the HSS was canceled. I was on my way to Dublin Airport to emmigrate to the US. As someone who had posted earlier they big ferrys have stablisers and I didn't feel a thing. I just sat in bar having a couple of guinessess.

To be honest, I'm not that worried anymore as I'm just looking forward to my holiday.

I'm not sure what sailing I'm going over on yet, it's all included in the price of the accomadation. I only booked last night.

I've been back and forward a few times, seacat (thank god they've done away with it!), stena fast ferry - love it!, Holyhead to Dublin on the stena slow ferry - fantastic boat but added an hour to our usual time & Belfast to Liverpool on the P&O - nobody warned me it was going to be so small, we parked the car on the roof, !!!!!! is that all about! Have had a couple of bad storms but always survived, even when the 3 1/2 hr seacat to the Isle of Man TT turned into 8 hrs.

Whatever happens you'll be fine and it'll be worth it when you get here, have a great holiday

They have put us on the Fishguard to Rosslare route at half 2 in the morning, so I can just lay on the chairs, which is not a bad thing.

Another thing it's all done and dusted.

Silly little update: I was really unwell travelling over to Ireland early on the 9th, never felt so ill before even though it was calm and now can not stand that meerkat advert now or the one with the birds that can't fly as it kept repeating and repeating on the TV whilst I was feeling really sick, not nice. I took something travelling back and was fine, so I guess I ought to follow advice. lol

Although I loved my holiday :D It was fab.

Sorry about your outward sailing but glad to hear you had a good holiday!
