I had another night up with DD, in considerable pain and distress, so a visit to the doctor's as soon as we could this morning. She has a urinary tract infection that has spread to the kidney - no wonder she is so ill. I am not very happy with the out of hours service, who should have picked up on the mention of back ache and sorted out a consultation earlier, and I'm even crosser with myself for waiting until Monday, rather than doing something about it over the weekend - even if she was better during the days. I'm here as she's asleep at the moment, finally stopped being sick, so the antibiotics and painkillers have a chance to work. Just checking every half an hour.

I did the kitchen this morning in short bursts in between nursing and check ups - I have quite a lot of energy when I'm worried - displacement activity!

    Off to check again.

Serena, I hope your DD is on the mend soon, sounds like she's been through the wars... don't beat yourself up about not taking her over the weekend - you were not to know and took faith in the people who should know these things, they are the ones in the wrong... she is OK now and that is the main thing.
Take care and hugs and best wishes being sent her way...:grouphug:

    Evening all

G&B - have you been to the doctor's?
Summermoon - hoorah on the house move! And wishing you lots of success vibes on the giving up smoking
Polka - well done on your success so far

Welcome to new people and welcome back to returners

Reasonable day at work today though I'm v. cold this evening. Winter's definitely here in these parts. I shall do a stew with mash tonight - just the sort of thing for a cold evening.

I shall also do some bits from today's list and post back with what I've done when I've done it!

That's what I've just had soappie - sausage stew with mash - numnumnum, nice and warming - also made a big cottage pie while I was doing it so that's ready for tomorrow - will divide up and freeze remainder of both later when they've cooled...

my beloved son doesn't like it too hot - so he turns his radiator thermostat down. This I can cope with. What I cannot cope with - or get through to him is that, if he then leaves his bedroom door open the heat tootles upstairs - heat rises (as any fule kno (Molesworth)) so it wafts into his room and the cold air that is already in there then comes out of his room and down the stairs (because cold air moves down - hope you're enjoying the physics) and I am at the bottom of the stairs on the computer, because that's where the PC lives and my LEFT LEG is getting the full blast of cold air and is beginning to HURT.

If this is plain to you and makes sense PLEASE tell me how to get it through to a 15 year old teenager before my arthritis kicks back in.
