  • since my last post, i've got the kids washed and dressed, and then got them to play in DS1's new bedroom so i could get sorted a bit.

    I managed to:
    • empty big airer of DH's work Tshirts and jumpers, fold and get away
    • sort through a bag of clothes AnW's mum gave me finally, into fit now, fit next year, so there is now a bag of stuff to go in the loft and some for the kids to wear now
    • had a HHI - sorted out both kids an outfit for tomorrow, and also cleared some of the pile, and it worked quite well so i might try a few more HHI, as if i do one per day it will probably get me back on top of it, and the kids will probably let me do that if i pick my time right.
    • i've also got a pack of mince out to make cowboy hash tonight for dinner
currently DS1 is eating a snack while watching 'cars' (his current favourite) and DS2 is round my feet in the baby walker. I think i am finally getting somewhere near organised. I'll probably just get on top of it all before it will be time for me to go to work.

I now my priorities today need to be:
    • do a washload to refill the airer
    • menu plan for the week - i have a vague idea but if i write it on the calendar then DH is not averse to cooking - it's just inspiration he lacks
    • do a BOOTS online order - i am nearly out of nappies and baby milk, and i have some codes for extra points if i shop online, also saves me lugging it around the shops
I am currently thinking i might go to Meadowhell tomorrow and get DS1 some new clothes with his birthday money, and try and do a bit more of the chrimbo shopping and try and get it almost done for the kids at least. I'm a bit lacking in motivation for the adults of the family that i need to buy for.

combined with a lack of behaviour policy and support for me (no TA, severe lack of resources eg. 6 pairs of scissors for 30 children and a wipeboard that would be small enough to fit on my bathroom wall) and two children who really shoud've been excluded for their behaviour, it was just too much for me to cope with as an NQT.

No way should a NQT be put in that position. Hope the agency manages to sort out something better
Err, well i didnt actually make it to uni. Dropped LO off at afterschool club, got halfway to uni and nipped in to the shops for imodium and came straight home!

Need to be better by tomorrow, i have a statistics exam that i have done no work for, so will try and study today.
Hugs G&B that sounds rotten. Take care and get sorted for that exam

sexymouse that sounds like a nightmare, I would have left aswell, they wonder why some kids don't achieve aswell as they should but when you hear how badly staff are supported and how poor resources are, there is no wonder!

mumofjusttwo that sounds fabulous, we couldn't get tickets for the nights we could go when it was on at the metro arena.

pigpen thanks for the boots reminder, I have that 1500 extra points email too, was meaning to put an order in, just checked and it ends today so best get a wiggle on.

Summermoon great news, time to declutter as you pack!!!

TAG we will probably be away sunday- thursday next summer as we were this year but open to suggestion of times/places, then see what I can do, depending when it is I might be able to plan a holiday near it......but have to remember we're all on different summer hols, school differences plus we have those who are in Scotland on different hols to those in England. It might be worth going for a west coast place, near where ferrys are from Ireland if those from across the water would like to go. Just throwing suggestions in, possible problems I suppose aswell as we're all so far away from each other, from IOM, Ireland, England, Wales, Scotland....then NZ aswell....

DPs getting on my nerves, he can't understand why the kids don't want to play outside in the cold/wind and want to sit inside watching TV when that is all he wants to do....going to kick them all out I think. Swimming this afternoon.

I best go take the dogs out, TTFN
One day I might be more organised...........

Right, I'm going to get dressed now, and then I'm going to hang out the washing as for once it's sunny and I know it won't last til the afternoon. Then I'll do another half hour in the kitchen. Can't do the floor until the washing mountains have been cleared.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

Hi, I am going to try to do level one this week.
Thanks for the reassurances about postcodes. I think I am a bit paranoid because there is only us and one neighbour with our post code.

Summermoon I am pleased for you that the council have given you the go ahead on your move.

Mumoffour, As someone who has the 't-shirt' from doing a uni course with four children and worked full time, can I just say you have my full sympathy. Make sure you have time off with the kids, and remember you don't have to go for top marks on every assignment.

Sexymouse. It seems to me you have done the right thing there. Hold out until you get something that is right for you. Now I am feeling worried for DS1. He goes into school for the first time on Thursday.

In my last job the HOD was c***. I had to by my own paper, pens etc. for the kids to use in lessons, it was a nightmare.

Ooh! I've just noticed snow on top of the hills!!:snow_grin

Bah I've stalled! Right I think my plan is to have 20 mins on the Wii fit as I'm feeling flabby, have some food as breakfast has eluded me and put some washing on.

    Kitchen Rescue:

Shinky sink (wash dishes in the sink, when dry empty rack)
    DW
Clean worktops - one (with kettle on), two (left side of hob) , three (right side of hob), four (above dishwasher), five (bread make/microwave area), six (under phone)
    Sweep floor
[strike]Fold dry clothes from horse and dryer[/strike]
    Shine hob

Also hung washing up to dry and fed baby and put her for her nap.
Fluttering about an inch off the ground, I may fly properly one day and soar in the clouds!
