Does anyone else think pigpen's being a bit mean this week? Yesterday I'd finished the list for 9.40 in the morning and I still didn't get a dog biscuit!

I think Pigpen has rather more on her plate.. tomorrows list will be up in 5 minutes..

    Evening all

Hugs to those who are poorly and smiles to those who are recovering.

    Has anyone seen Dusty recently?

Reasonable day at work today. Failed to get both projects out the door but did manage to get one out - the Project Manager was so pleased he bought me a very tiny box of After Eight mints! Have also been given my next task which looks like it'll be a project from hell but I'll manage it I'm sure.

I won't do my bedroom today - I'm off tomorrow (apart from a meeting in the morning) so I'll tackle it first thing - the bedding can be washed and go out on the line before my meeting as the weather's set fair.

So, I think I'll just sit back and relax tonight. There's some peppers and mushrooms which need using up in the fridge so it's stiry fry for dinner I think. Off now to root around the freezer for a chicken breast or something to add to it.

Still feeling pretty bleugh but done loads in the den (still needs vacuumed and the sofa bed made up ready for DS's GF for tomorrow night - Sis will either have to sleep at bro's or on our sofa!), vacuumed everywhere upstairs and washed the kitchen floor, so quite chuffed with myself.

Jacket potatoes cooking nicely so off to collect DD from the roundabout and scoot to TK Maxx for her to check out the thermals for TA.

    Might be back later. x

lol when DH died W was too young to go to the funeral but he came to the wake in the church hall afterwards. It was lovely because as far as he was concerned it was a party and he, Miss A and their cousins were all running round eating sandwiches and having a lot of fun. It certainly helped lift the spirits of those that were there.

I can't imagine how hard that must have been to deal with. I'm very fortunate to still have all those close to me still here. But at times of loss for my parents, I know how much the children helped to lift everyone, and to be reminded that life goes on, even if we don't always want it to...:)

  • It's pretty quiet in here this evening. Where's all my lovely chatty flyladies gone?

MY peace will be shattered shortly when the children return sugar laden and hyper!

    Joy!

On a really positive note - ok, i've bug**red my back up but i've now finished my christmas shopping. All done online and via quidco! The best deal was for the starwars lego which i've never seen on offer before. It was 3 for 2 at Woolies so i've got £170 worth of lego (probably about three bricks!!) with one kit at £49.99 free, 10% off through quidco, 6% back via quidco, my dad is paying for one of the kits for DSs joint birthday / christmas present, and i'm left to pay.....£34.99:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: ! Now that is a bargain!!! Oh, nearly forgot....I put it on a money back credit card too! :T xx

Would try and freecycle some of it but am finding that no-one wants anything on there unless its a really expensive item
I have freecycled some odd - and inexpensive things - rocks for the garden, MFI drawer runners (unused)...they must be posher down your way:rotfl:
Children gone to the party now, my friend was ludicrously stressed! She's having the party at a church hall, it's a halloween fancy dress party, with a DJ. She arrived to discover there's a wake being held in the next room!!! The DJ went into the wake, and said "It's very quiet in here, is this the children's party?"
I know I shouldn't laugh... but OMG :rotfl: you couldn't make it up!!!
:rotfl: - if you didn't laugh you'd cry...

Have to say that's a nice thing to think about ... I have been to wakes where there are children and they do see it as a party but at the same time if they are old enough I think it's important that they are included...it must have been so very hard for you AnWsMum. I think the shock of a sudden loss must have a massive impact...different when the person has been ill and the death is expected and, in a way, welcome IYSWIM
