A-sav I am adding you to the list of people coming and am also pm-ing you my mobile no. so when you arrive just give us a call (or else go around looking for a group of strange people, mostly women I think, wearing a safety pin very prominently on lapels, jumpers, hats etc... and one wearing a zombie T-shirt!Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0

Hi everyone who is going to Ikea - does anyone need or want anything in particular? I am a hoarder who finds it easier to get rid of things if I know someone needs them so if you need/collect/covet anything in particular then please mention it beforehand (by pm?) and if I have it I will bring it along - meaning things like lifestyle/garden mags, cuttings of perennial plants, crime books, buttons, no good saying "cash"!
Roll on Thursday! You never know how far-reaching something good, that you may do or say today, may affect the lives of others tomorrow0 -

I shall bring lots of seeds as well, some are old but might (or might not) germinate, but some are still well within date. I have used some of the old ones and they have worked but I have limited space so am happy to share them around.
I might have some books or mags with me, not sure yet. I have a few books that are left over from other OS meets and I shall bring them, a few from Karin Slaughter, anybody interested? Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -

Actually there's something you may be able to bring me, pretty please; if anyone has houseleeks or similar, just one rosette from yours - I am trying to make a green roof from them and as much variety in colour as possible makes it more interesting. They travel well so just wrap in a poke of newspaper, no pot req'd. Cheers! You never know how far-reaching something good, that you may do or say today, may affect the lives of others tomorrow0

Now I'm going to feel scruffy, tried to book to have mine cut and roots done but she's not well, so hair not been cut for 6 months and I have 1 1/2 " of roots. If I do zombie make up you may not noticeblossomhill wrote: »Actually there's something you may be able to bring me, pretty please; if anyone has houseleeks or similar, just one rosette from yours - I am trying to make a green roof from them and as much variety in colour as possible makes it more interesting. We had a green roof on our shed till it collapsed in a storm a few years ago, rescued what I could and house leeks survived. I have a few other alpines that were on there, slow spreading things are they any good too or just the leeks?
If anyone has a cheap bread maker or dehydrator they no longer need I'd be happy to pay for it. Tried freecycle and ebay but they always go for more than I can afford.
Got any old pillow cases? I'd be really grateful for them.
I make them into dresses that a friend of mine gives to girls in Gambia. She runs a very small charity there (and lives there, she's an ex social worker from the UK) in a very rural bit well off the tourist trail. I've been there and seen what she's achieved and how much she is loved by the locals.
Doesn't matter what colour/style/condition I will be able to do something with them, any marks etc can be covered with applique or pockets. Someone else on MSE found a great pattern to turn them into simple dresses.0 -
